Death Strike Nerf?

I don’t remember or have been playing this class long enough. Was Death strike recently nerfed? In pve it heals 40 percent all damage taken in the past 5 seconds. In pvp its 30 percent. Was that a recent nerf or has that been there for a while?

The nerf has been around for a long time now. It used to be nerfed in PvP by 50% but was re-adjusted to 25% in either Battle for Azeroth or Shadowlands - can’t remember.

Honestly, expect another Death Strike nerf - or at least the DPS talent version of Improved Death Strike. DPS Death Knights are a bit ridiculous with their survivability at the moment.

I dont see deathstrike being nerfed anytime soon imo, its not that bad

If anything they will reduce will of necropolis %

ok thank you, im brand new to this class really, so I was curious

not getting one shotted like everyone else doesn’t mean we are due for a nerf, wait till everyone is geared and has full versa. on top of that you have a lot of non-hardcore players returning who have no idea how to PVP. the amount of times i have lived facing higher level higher geared players because people dump full gos into AMZ or IBF/LB is hilarious. if you don’t fight a DK properly, it will seem like we are the terminator.

Basically we heal back damage with the 5 second rule. So if you take a big hit, death strike heal back that damage. Death strike is fine as is. Just y’all gotta know when to burst and not burst your cds against ibh ams and amz.

All im gonna say is its definitely still possible to die on dk still, we wernt the only ones who got insane stuff from our talent trees

And if dk is still killable with all that it has right now, removing any of it would make the class intended to be difficult to kill, suddenly as if it was a cloth wearer who dies to cleave

To be fair though, will of the necro is to strong for a passive, -35% could easily be changed to like -20% but if thats the case i want to see significant changes to how we survive elsewhere

DS buff seems not necessary, I feel like maybe some sort of honor talent that turns lichborne from CC immunity into what it was back in bfa, without the immunity to stuns or slow part

So imagine like a 1 minute lichborne that gave us 20% leech and 15%-30% damage reduction. It could also rather than give damage reduction, remove physical effects from the dk

  • Anti-Magic Shell absorption amount reduced by 25% in PvP combat.

  • Will of the Necropolis damage reduction reduced by 50% in PvP in combat.

  • Anti-Magic Barrier increase to Anti-Magic Shell duration and amount absorbed has been reduced by 50% in PvP combat.

  • Abomination Limb will no longer pull individual enemy players more than once over its duration (was every 4 seconds).

  • Improved Death Strike increase to Death Strike’s healing has been reduced by 50% in PvP combat.

  • Death Strike’s healing increased based on recent damage is reduced by 50% if the damage was dealt by players or their pets.

dude this sucks so hard. how are you going to nerf so many abilties and by so much. i dont even know if i wanna do this class anymore, i mainly pvp

In all seriousness - Death Knight healing did need a nerf. If I’m reading this right, Death Strike will heal for about ~65% less than what it does right now, in addition to Will and AMS getting nerfed.

This seems rather heavy handed. I miss the days when Blizzard tried small, iterative changes. The only saving grace is how it easy it is to level and gear for PvP. May as well work on that Demon Hunter since they don’t want DKs existing.

I think it is extremely heavy handed, I have personally never seen an ability get nerfed by 65 percent. And I have been p[laying this game since mop. I agree it needed a nerf, but my god. They almost gutted it.

For the love of everything, please rethink some of those nerfs.

That’s not a mere tuning pass, it’s an evisceration of their defensives.

Im not fully geared and i did a heal with deathstrike today for 150k. It was overtuned.

These nerfs make me think DK is paper against melee classes now. Locks and Fury defensives have to be next on the list.

not compared to the damage intake. if they aren’t nerfing everyone elses damage we are just completely dead in the water, either you take 2-3 full time pocket healers or you don’t play.

I knew it was overturned, but dude. That is insane nerf. And it was a double nerf to that ability. I’m of course going to test it Tuesday. But I bet its going to pointless to use. And they nerfed our other defensives pretty good too. It was simply too heavy handed
