Death Knights need to be redesigned!

I think bone shield should stay with blood.
If frost and unholy get a way to go tank again then they need way of migrating damage.

For frost rw can be modded with talents

And unholy can have a miasma of stuff around them that does something like that and zombies that last longer and stronger that shield unholy at all times

Frankly it looks boring to me. I like the previous sets this expansion more.

Turn RP walk off and use your speed boost abilities.

So presences with improved presences
While in a presence that is not your own you retain your base presence and 25% of your improved presence.
While in blood presence frost/unholy have access to a tank ability that specific to each spec. Also blood has a DPS ability while in another presence.

A possible downside is while outside your presence your procs happen 70% as much

If you want disease, play unholy in pvp and youll find its excruciatingly boring. Their identity is extremely strong though so idk what youre going on about. The only spec that really needs to be looked at in terms of identity is frost.

Personally id like to see rune strike repurposed as a baseline ability for specs as just a generic filler spell that can be used without runes/RP, would make those akward moments of downtime way better.

or redesign the playstyle of DKs entirely, for example…

Rune strike generates runes, which can be used on rune abilites, and rune abilites generate RP which are used on a RP spender, doesnt need to be exactly that but something of that nature would be nice.

Death Knight spells also seem so dated after Shadowlands we see so many Necrotic Green Death spells but Death Knight Class has one ability with this color pallete Abom Limb… every other spell is purple or poison green, frost blue… so its more like youre a shadow poison knight.

Frost is literally just Icy Mist x 3 + low poly dragons and oblit, which should have a crazy unique animation ala new execute.

The first hero class which used to be absolutely amazing has been put on a shelf to collect dust. Shame Blizzard did this to us.

Isn’t that literally the gameplay loop of frost?
You build RP with obliterate then spend RP with frost strike.

Uh…no? you burn runes to generate runic power for your dumps…then hope ya get lucky and your frost strike regens a rune so you can keep going, and thats for single target, dont remember well but I dont think the aoe rp dumps have a chance to regen runes.

again it doesnt need to be the idea I presented(infact the more I think about it doesnt it work like the holy power system? which I think paladins hated?) more of just a example, the class is honestly just dated and needs some type of overhaul or filler spell to make it feel better to play.

It 100% is except Rune Strike would theoretically be costless and just generate runes.

So essentially some weird, worse designed version of Rogues where you have a spammable builder to generate Energy, and then your Energy builders generate Combo Points to be spent by the spenders.

It’s a suggest that just needlessly adds extra complexity for no discernible reason.

All RP spenders can trigger Runic Empowerment/Runic Corruption. Therefore, Frost Strike, GA, BoS, Death Coil, and Death Strike can trigger RE to refund the rune. The builder-spender resource loop (as in Obliterate, Festering, Heart Strike, and other rune abilities building and Death Coil/Strike and Frost Strike spending) is generally fine and not what DKs need addressed.

Underlying generation is a problem for Frost specifically but that’s a spec specific tuning issue and not a DK class issue.

personally id just like some type of filler spell, which is why I suggested bringing rune strike back as filler that doesnt need RP/runes, cause after playing demon hunter it just FEELS so much better to play as a melee class (even if the rotation is a bit dull)…but I dislike the class fantasy so uh…yea.

KM needs a damage nerf with the power put into the rest of the core kit, but mostly into Frost Strike & GA.

Frost could definitely benefit from a 30/45s CD ability as well, like an Apocalypse/Wake of Ashes. Something like Cold Heart (but does more) and isn’t tied to Chains.

That already exists - it’s Obliterate.

I disagree, obliterate is our main ability not a filler.

We really could just use a ability that doesnt require Rune/RP, something like blood boil for blood, also idk if its just me but I also feel like death and decay could use some rework cause it just feels bad to use these days.

There’s 4 buttons in the kit, one of which you never really press (HB), one you press on CD (RW), and your spender (FS). By simple deduction, that leaves Obliterate as your “filler”.

The design from SL to now that tried to move away from that structure is exactly why Frost feels subpar to play compared to other DPS.

Frost & Unholy really don’t. Blood is average 65 APM (actions per minute) with Unholy & Frost having 60 and 58.5 respectively. Having another ability that’s doesn’t require a Rune or RP and is functionally just “BB but for DPS DKs”, when both DK is just bloat when DKs already have very little downtime.

If you just want to be GCD locked, Havoc, Outlaw, and Fury are right there for you.

I liked the faster pace for sure. I also didnt hate the death rune conversion aspect of it. As a whole current rune system feels slow.
