Death Knights in pvp

I’m having a really hard time playing DK successfully. Fairly new character with full honor gear and a couple pieces of conquest. My random by record is 18 losses and 5 win.

I feel like my warrior and dh just do everything a lot better.

I have always liked DK lore and aesthetics and I really want to play this class successfully. What are dks role in bgs and arena? Any tips would be great. Thank you.

Depends warrior and dh are very different classes, it also depends on how long you have played each class, this can really effect performance on each class and spec.

Dk does particularly well against magic enemies but not so good against a warrior at least in my experience.

Just play the class and get to know it and how to respond to situations.

DK isn’t the best, but if you are struggling to get 1800 it’s a skill issue. There are a lot more obstacles in on your way to do with player performance before class balance is coming into play.

Look at guides, watch higher ranked players, and keep practicing and you will see improvement.

What dk spec are you going for? UH or Frost?

Stat spreads?

What kind of openers, burst rotation, ect do you go with ect?

Frost imo at least currently is just better than UH. More control and damage. Though I do UH as well, but switched to frost overall.

I play warrior rogue and dk. None at a highest level, only dualist for the most part.

I can say my warrior for sure just chunks. I can go in and just destroy, but my frost DK feels really good. I do great cleave and have some fun mobility/control.

In arena, being able to grip healer in, blind, into stun silence combos guarantees at least defensive trading or trinkets. Not to mention the damage is so high that some points I just kill before someone has a chance to react.

In BG blitz, it is really fun to slappy hands aoe stun a big team fight.

Make sure to have a cancel aura death charge macro. You can’t use wraith walk while on your horse.

Other than that, it just comes down to knowing when to line up CDs, grips ect. Don’t waste a grip on someone you can easily catch up to. Chains is one of the best slows in the game, along with having the aoe slow on DND if you spec for it.

Arena for DK, it is all about cleave damage and CC. Having a silence you can combo with a stun will get kills or at least trinkets for sure.

BGS, you have the ability to grip someone from 40 yds away. You can easily grip healers into your team or grab someone who may have overextended for an easy kill. This is especially useful for flag maps.
