Are Death Knight voices actually gone? The voice effect is gone on all my DK characters. I’ve heard that there are ways to restore it by going into the WTF folder and changing Sound_EnableDSPEffects from x to 1. But I don’t have that in my WTF folder so I installed AdvancedInterfaceOptions addon to do it and saw that mines at 1 and not x already.
So are Death Knight voices truly gone? I still hear the voice filter on NPC DKs but never my DK anymore.

That’s unfortunate. The voices were one of the appeals of the class fantasy. I read on older posts that some people have figured out how to restore the voices, but none of those solutions seem to work for me or they don’t work in general anymore. I guess the voices are truly gone.
I wonder why? We had the toggle on and off for a long time. I’m not sure why blizzard would completely remove the voices. Odd that all the DK NPCs have the voices still.

ah so it wassnt just me i recently came back to wow and was wondering if it was a bug that my character was speaking normally
Yeah its because blizzard hates dks
if they hated them they would remove them
I mean they already removed my beloved Necrotic Strike and replaced it with a non-canon discount mortal strike 
Yeah, it was one of the first things I noticed when starting the game again a couple of days ago. Just laziness on Blizz’s part I guess.
I want them back badly myself but how exactly is it lazy?
It took more effort to remove them than it did to leave them.
So only DH has a special voice now?
Seems like Blizz really want to rob DK of everything it has.
I’ve never played DH. Didn’t know they had special voices. Now I’m even more salty lol.

I’ve never seen an official statement from blizzard about it after searching for one. It’s pretty lame.
Necroing this just to bring it to the top, I hope they bring DK voices back or at least acknowledge it in some way
Death Knights seem to have voice effects again in the latest 10.2.5 PTR build. It sounds like they redid them as the effect sounds a bit different to me.
they hate them and keep them in. Even more of a rub.
Are there any youtube videos of this? I’ve tried to search but couldn’t find any.
I hopped on PTR and checked it out myself. Voice effects are back, and there is no check box to disable them.
