Yes, this is on the internet, so you can search it and see how wrong you are, “warlock”.
I also have access to Wrath Classic which uses the visuals of Wrath… looks like a skull to me. A dragon skull, but a skull none the less. The same thing that google shows. How you get “fish” from that is a mystery.
A skull is a skull, that’s not a skull. And even if it was a dragon skull, it wouldn’t make any sense, warlock has zero relation with dragons (or fishes, or serpents). Old Chaos Bolt simply doesn’t make sense, the current one is a bolt filled with fel magic, truly a chaos bolt.
It’s a skull.
Denial in a single person. Amusing.
Says the person that has such bad eyesight they think it was a fish.
Its s skull.
Yeah you said it’s a skull like 100 times, and it still isn’t. Get over it, you’re just being childish and immature.
It literally is.
No idea why a post on the DK forums devolved into this discussion, but here’s your answer:

Looks to me like a Frost Wyrm head. So a skull, in other words.
The screenshot is from Legion.
The update is removing it from the game
Let’s think about it before asking for death coil update… I feel like it feels decent to press and looks alright. If things like shadowbolt are any indication as to how they’d screw up an updated visual, I don’t want it
True, looks alright. But judging by your character you don’t have much of a sense of what looks good or not.
I just want more summon ghoul glyphs
I remember the chain visual for DK’s deathgrip during legion, people were upset because it functioned slower than the original which is likely why it was never implemented. I’m all for updated visuals so long as they don’t become a nerf in functionality.
My god, the grass yearns for your touch. I just leveled and haven’t transmogged.
Give me a sweet animation for shattering blade. It has nothing right now besides a generic weapon swing and the softest “poof” for a sound effect.
Also gimme a glyph of deaths due for death and decay. If you guys haven’t seen it before, go look it up or join night fae in shadowlands and try it out. It turns death and decay into a bright blue ground animation, it’s actually beautiful. Perfect for frost dk.
I really agree with this! Overall I think the filler abilities need to have a more pronounced flavor. It feels very similar across the specs.
Out of my head with specifics:
- Death Strike needs to have a more… bloody effect. I even made a weak aura just to add a more pronounced blood spash sound when I use it.
- Death’s Advance havving an unique animation and sfx. It looks and sounds like some leftover Rogue ability from Vanilla.
- Wraith Walk effect could be more wraith-y instead of translucent ghost, which looks really outdated to nowadays’ standards. There are so many Maldraxxus effects that could enhance this.
- Bone Armor looks dated, especially the bone movement. Bonestorm looks cool as it is, but the effect needs to be more pronounced!
- Consumption should be this big truck-hitting strike, and easily gets lost with your Heart Strikes. I must’ve been crazy but I could swear this ability had more ‘meat’ to its visual in Legion when it was an artifact thing.
- Soul Reaper suffers from the same problem. An execute ability should look and sound like serious business.
- Any chances of Lichborne getting a glyph that turns you into an actual Lich for its duration? I get that would make the thing more obvious in PVP, but being a glyph allows people to opt out if they feel at a disadvantage.
Also, with Warlocks fully able to customize their demons in the barbershop, there’s absolute ZERO reason why DKs can’t do the same with their pets. We have the ghoul, gargoyle, abomination, magus of the dead and the All Will Serve extra minion, and tons of models to use.
Theyre capable of mixing different animations for individual limbs together, and my recommendation would be to mix the Priest floating animations with the 2h Idle animation.
As for weapon effects, I think its about time to iterate on the weapon trail effects to give them more of a visual flair. Imagine for frost DKs, consuming a Killing Machine proc gives our slash an icy after effect.

I wonder if there’s any hope given even Levitate, an actual priest spell, doesn’t have the proper floating animations used by Voidform, but yeah that’s exactly what I’d love! And then add more to the translucent effect with something else that leaves a small trail in the air
The only ability remotely like this is the Extermination proc. That’s the level of oomph I’d expect from things like Killing Machine.
Id love if they used the newer spirit effect that has the lower body fade for Wraithwalk.
