Death from Grief

I’m pretty bummed out, I was doing my thing playing my mage when another gnome mage pulls a large group of pirates just outside Booty Bay and brings that entire group where I’m standing. He then freezes them in place right on top of me and he is not to be seen after that.

Because the mobs were frozen in place on top of me they all attacked me and I died.

This was done deliberately

Report em, sadly without and sense of appeal system, that’s all we can do.

Do you have a clip?

Blizzard has been pretty vocal about griefing can be perma banned

I feel really bad for you but that’s actually pretty funny.

You could try reporting that player and see if maybe they’ll ban him for it, but good luck convincing them it wasn’t an accident.

What did you do to make him upset?

I always wanna hear both sides of a story over a random sock puppet thread.

And you just stood there and let that happen? You couldn’t move a couple steps away?

If so, then that is a punishable offense in HC…or so they say.

On reg servers they kinda dont care as much, on HC.they claim it can lead to account closers if you deliberately cause another players death.

Such as if I were to pull a bunch of mobs then bubble on my pally and run out of there… if that caused player deaths then that could be reported.

Were you tabbed out?

Not sure why you didn’t run.

If it was an AoE mage, most likely what upset him was someone else existing and being competition. AoE mages are selfish c****

When did he say he was tabbed out?

AoE mages griefing each other is like those trashy drama shows about the first world problems of obscenely rich people.

Was your blink on cooldown?

He stood there and let the guy drag mobs to him, let ice block wear off, and then died. He must not have been watching.

Must have been tabbed out or asleep. That should have been easy to avoid. /facepalm

Oh cool, another thread that has devolved into victim shaming! We haven’t had one of these in a while…

There’s nothing in this thread that provides intent on behalf of the other mage, yet there are some very obvious holes in the OP’s story. Pointing that out is reasonable, to say the least.

He wasn’t a victim.

He stood there and watched it happen, or, he was afk.

“I don’t believe your story. It’s your fault that happened to you.” – If anybody is looking for clear examples of victim shaming, you can find it here.

I believed his story implicitly.

Of course, I actually read it and have played the game, so I know what his story meant.

I feel like most of them aren’t worth the response at this point. They either just want to play devil’s advocate, or are genuinely that obtuse to appreciate the a simple concept that while one could be aware of the actions people are taking they don’t know their motivation.

IE: oh hey that’s a mage AoE grinding. Neat, anyways I’ll just grind the-OH GOD WHAT THE–.

you neglected to mention the part where you damaged them with your AoE. if you didn’t, they wouldn’t have attacked you :expressionless:
i agree it’s a grief though and the guy should be banned. he probably won’t though unless he does this repeatedly.
