Was the move from PvE talent to PvP talent for Death From Above well received by the rogue community? I liked the ability for it’s little AoE dmg and little flashy animation and quite miss it. My rogue alt is not the same without it. Was it’s move out of PvE appreciated? Just curious.
The fun part of DfA was nerfed; it’s much easier to CC someone during DfA now, and half the game was timing its use on incoming stuns, fears, whatever. You can still use it to hilarious effect (warlock and monk teleports are fun: “I CAN FLY THROUGH WALLS”), but it’s not the same.
For raiding it was a mixed bag. The positive was that it hit like an absolute truck when you had all of your buffs lined up as sub, especially if it crit.
The bad was its ‘charge’ effect would always snap you to a specific point of each boss. This made it unusable in some situations like Krosis or the janitor dude from Nighthold, dfa would basically snap u into the middle of their hitbox, leading you straight into janitors 1 hit laser, or any of Krosis’ big blasts.
Overall the damage didnt really feel worth the risk for me, even if you could hit for 20 million at times.
not really. they nerfed the bonus to the eviscerate damage from 50% bonus to 10% bonus (80% nerf)
its only use is connecting to people kiting you now and immuning cc such as a mortal coil or fear
would feel a lot better if it still hit hard. definitely not worth doing it for damage at all.

Its what single handedly made sub rogues raiding/m+ top tier in legion, during tomb and antorus. The positioning downside could be played around.
True, on top of all the multipliers sub had it really was the breaking point. But I just didn’t mind it leaving for when it could go wrong. Interestingly enough, the exposed weakness changes on beta that lets evis hit 50% harder as shadow damage actually really scratches that big itch that DFA damage left behind.
With that and shadow vault being introduced into subs kit I’m seeing those real big damage chunks that made sub so fun to play coming back, really exciting stuff. (And even better that its all baseline)
I swear whenever I tried messing around with death from above I feel like I do less damage in a 5 combo point eviscerate
thats because dfa in bfa was heavily nerfed, 50% inc to only 10%. The initial aoe part of dfa was also completely removed. It was only really used by sub in WoD to Legion since sub can consistently stack multiple damage multipliers for a fat evis
