Death and Decay build combos?

So there’s quite a bit in the game right now in talents, covenants, conduits, and legendaries that all buff up Death and Decay, and I’m wondering how far to take it. For context, I mostly play Unholy and in Mythic+ content.

I’ve joined Night Fae on my DK, so where I would be hesitant to go for the Phearomones legendary over Frenzied Monstrosity because D&D is typically bad in single target, I’m instead encouraged because being able to squeeze in a few extra scourge strikes for the Death’s Due buff makes Death’s Due better in single target, and Death’s Due makes using D&D in single target situations already worth it. And in aoe? I usually run a wounds build, so haste right when I want it most is incredible. Free procs of Tremble Before Me against mob packs is really enticing, too.

So I guess my question is how far should I take this? Does going from a ~1/3 to a ~1/2 uptime on the haste buff (and more uptime on the Death’s Due strength buff), plus having a larger ground covered for the haste buff, make Defile worth using over Unholy Pact? Withering Ground is normally an underwhelming conduit and currently doesn’t even work if you have the Defile talent selected, but would the damage increase to Death’s Due w/ Defile make Withering Ground worth the try if it did? Are there other things I should keep in mind?

Hoping they fix the conduit not working with defile… or atleast give it a new interaction with defile so its a good/decent conduit.
That said im currently running this build on my DK but maining pvp lol with the 90% slow and with pheromones and defile its going to be nasty I promise.

Kind of sad no one else has commented on this. I’m wondering the same as well, and if there is benefit in pve of this type of build.

It’s not worth losing Unholy Pact. Defile needs to provide a better scaling in terms of damage in order to compete with it.

Death’s Due, Withering Ground (It got fixed now), Phearomones is only good on paper when tanks stand still (Which they don’t), and Death’s Certainty is a very oddly labeled Unholy legendary that all Dks can use.

They should have let pheramones effect all allies at 50% of the rate the dk receives.

Mmm… group utility. “Where is your dnd?” “Its on cooldown!” “Spec into defile you sack of bones!”
