So there’s quite a bit in the game right now in talents, covenants, conduits, and legendaries that all buff up Death and Decay, and I’m wondering how far to take it. For context, I mostly play Unholy and in Mythic+ content.
I’ve joined Night Fae on my DK, so where I would be hesitant to go for the Phearomones legendary over Frenzied Monstrosity because D&D is typically bad in single target, I’m instead encouraged because being able to squeeze in a few extra scourge strikes for the Death’s Due buff makes Death’s Due better in single target, and Death’s Due makes using D&D in single target situations already worth it. And in aoe? I usually run a wounds build, so haste right when I want it most is incredible. Free procs of Tremble Before Me against mob packs is really enticing, too.
So I guess my question is how far should I take this? Does going from a ~1/3 to a ~1/2 uptime on the haste buff (and more uptime on the Death’s Due strength buff), plus having a larger ground covered for the haste buff, make Defile worth using over Unholy Pact? Withering Ground is normally an underwhelming conduit and currently doesn’t even work if you have the Defile talent selected, but would the damage increase to Death’s Due w/ Defile make Withering Ground worth the try if it did? Are there other things I should keep in mind?
