Dear Wyrmrest Accord

I want your cold. It’s 17 degrees outside, everything is frozen and we keep getting people at the hotel wanting to get rooms. WE AINT GOT NONE. SHOO. I got food to cook, darnit.

We had a blizzard early yesterday morning into the day and it wrecked the roads - white outs for a lot of it. Still kind of unsafe driving conditions.

I’ve never been more glad my truck is a heavy old bugger that literally doesn’t care -at all- about ice. 94 Explorer, reppin’.

I remember when I lived in Austin and the roads froze/it snowed.

I didn’t want to drive because I didn’t want to be on the road with others… And I lacked chains. So I ordered 2 large pizzas and a couple of 2 liters for my housemates and I.

I gave a 100% tip.

Oof. Yeah, I felt bad when the people I’m living with ordered pizza yesterday. S’like… no, don’t put it on my account! Yeah, I know I get free points because you’re paying, but c’mon. Making me look bad. They know who I am.

Hope they got a nice tip. I was passed out.

Delivering in that weather is like… Above and beyond duty there.

Definitely. Then there was the -wind-… ugh.

I hate Kansas.

… I’m getting old. I can’t remember which one is Kansas. I need to look at a map.

It’s the miserable square one right smack dab in the middle of Tornado Alley, right underneath the one that looks like it has a funny nose.

Sorry, Nebraska. You know it’s true.

I’ve actually been to Kansas City like in 2001… But I was on the Missouri side. I remember going, “Why is Kansas City in Missouri?” I was traveling from Silicon Valley to Philadelphia.

Because Kansas City didn’t want anything else to do with this state either!

I remember coming across a “KC Masterpiece” chain and being like, uwu what’s this? It was good.

According to google, the people who market KC Masterpiece are a subsidiary of Clorox.

The Barbecue Sauce, that is. I don’t know about any chains.

Also lets hard-turn this conversation away from food, please xD I’m hungry and can’t eat anything because my stomach’s being rude about the whole thing and I don’t really need to tempt fate.

Okay. I want a pet birb. Like. A pair if Scarlet Macaws. Low key rainbow wings. A cat or peacock are fine too.

What’s your ideal pet?

Birds are awesome - I remember watching this one youtube channel that had a Toucan for a pet and it was beyond adorable, but I wouldn’t want to subject any poor creature to having to live with me caring for it.

…With that said? A cat. I adore cats. They get a lot of flack about being overly independent and unfriendly, but a lot of them are super friendly and energetic! They just have personalities, like the hateful turds that give them flack!

xD

I had a cat who would follow me around with endless cuddles. I had another who would climb under my covers and use my arm as a pillow. She’d lay against my chest and let me hug her.

Mine usually only come near me for pets, but they’ve learned to be wary of me for one very specific reason…

If they reveal their stomach, all bets are off. i know it’s like a symbol of trust or somesuch stuff, but -it’s too cute and I cannot be held responsible for immediately gently rubbing the belly.-

Oh, I had this one cat when I was a kid. I tried cutting his fur because I was a stupid little monster that didn’t think his actions through and nearly cut his tail off. I wasn’t meaning to cause harm, but obviously because I was a stupid little monster I kind of did anyway. When I realized what I did I felt so horrible. Fortunately they were able to sow it back on. The first thing the cat did when he got home was seek me out and hop into my lap for cuddles. That cat had no right to be as patient as he was and I miss him a great deal.

He’s in a better place, at least. He was getting cancer and the vets insisted on putting him down, so… He was at least twenty, by then. Long, happy life.

Back at work, which means time to get used to these new-fangled forums.

Best of luck. It took me a 'lil but, but now I prefer it to the old. Except for the lack of an ignore feature. Some people really make me hate -that- particular ‘feature’. We can ignore threads, for gods sake, why not -people-?

Because engineers are sometimes (honestly often) not good at people and understanding human behavior.

This is true, but this is an engineer that designed a style of forums for people to use. You’d think he’d want to have at least -some- idea how people think when he did that past looking at the latest and ‘greatest’ sites.
