Great post but wishful thinking I’m afraid. They are trying to phase out SoD so I don’t expect too many more updates that don’t come next phase, MoP pre-orders are the big revenue right now and they can’t afford to screw up again like they did with Cataclysm.
Perhaps if Aggrend spent less time perma banning people for Twitter posts, we’d see some results.

Agreed. The crazy thing is that whenever I stop playing the game for a while, what inevitably gets me thinking about playing again is thinking “Man I would love to play some WSG” It is a timeless classic in my book.
It needs a timer tho, for super serial.

This will never happen but take a hard look at certain spells and apply “against non-player-controlled targets”. Like OP said certain Spell IDs stick out like a sore thumb.
PvPers are either queueing for AB or participating in Arkaviun’s Gurubashi events.

Edit: Forgot to mention make “For Great Honor” worth something so people have reason to queue WSG and AV.

I waited over three hours in que to play two wsg’s so far this weekend. One of them was 2-3 score game where we came back from being down at first. It was 33 minutes of a pure bloodbath with tactical plays being made. One of the best BG’s of all time in my opinion. I really hope there’s way to add some incentive to play WSG/AV/AB again. A new BG would be great too of course.
WSG is so good because ONE person can make a big difference. Be it a big dps or healer or flag runner. I’ve been fighting the urge to play Cata just to play different bgs again. lol
I posted this over in the OnlyChads Warrior discord run by the great Kefta for all the distinguished PvP warriors in SOD but no new PvP content in Phase 7 made it very easy for me to un-sub(tomorrow is my last day!) and I haven’t logged in for 2 weeks now. Phase 7 was just really bad imo, the shoulder enchants made overall damage too high and Ret Paladins were just insanely OP…the amount of times I got killed in 2-3 GCD’s in full PvP gear by Ret Paladins in 6pc T1/2pc T2/Templar in EPL made me completely give up on world PvP this phase and mostly stuck to AB because the extra HP made it somewhat tolerable. It’s wild because Phase 6 of SOD might honestly be the best PvP I’ve ever had in WoW. People were still ranking for their R14 weapons so the premade scene was competitive and awesome with Silithus being the best along with class balance finally feeling good. I’d be logged in for hours just PvPing in Silithus.
If there is no new PvP content of any kind on April 8th that would honestly just blow my mind. SOD was and probably is still the best version of WoW but man there were seriously just some really dumb and needless mistakes that hurt it a lot with player retention. Zero PvP content for 2 phases in a row(especially the final 2) would be the worst one and kill the game really quick. Like, imagine paying $15 a month just to raid log a few hours a week. If there is some new PvP content next phase it would have to be really, really good for me to consider coming back but so far its not looking good with the news on that front being dead silent(new PvP rewards likely would’ve been datamined by now on wowhead) and its only 8 days until launch.
Ya I’m with Grresh. If there’s no PvP content added whatsoever, I’m out. So are many of the people I play with.
100% agree. Just letting the PvP scene die is a careless mistake. Tossing out another random DR isnt going to save it. It needs something new, whether that be a bg, gear, titles, event, etc.
Also, pallies werent OP this phase, they just suddenly all figured out how to play their class. Its just a coincidence.
I wish there was a better version of wow… but alas, Im stuck with SOD till the end. I wish for some new pvp stuff and I dream about playing WSG again. lol
I can’t believe that blizzard hasn’t added any new pvp stuff for a long time now.
It would be nice if we could spend marks of honor on reals crates, or something. So many marks get wasted in the mail.
A new rank to grind with some new pvp weapons, pvp items/trinkets. Literally, ANYTHING.
Also, I miss WSG
