Do not play the class and spec if you do not know how to both interrupt enemy spells and purge the enemy buffs. Frankly, without you utilizing your interrupt+purge, you just are not a good spec for dungeons. If you do not want to use those two spells, I suggest playing a priest.
Dear party- this is coming from my holy priest. Please do not pull more then you can tank and think the healer can dispel and heal you while dodgeing crap and dealing with ranged adds you seem to have no care for.
Serious note, its called helping people out and maybe whispering to the shaman or something nicely to say “hey, can you focus more on purging.” Cause unless your running with nothing but warlocks, dps usually can handle most the interupts. (i know warlocks have pet kicks, but not all use that pet)
Some of the dps actually get buffed for interuppting to.
Sorry, I only play using the dreamcast maracas controller. One maraca controls my chain heal, the other my /flirt emote. There’s no purging or dispelling going on here.
Healers shouldn’t be interrupting at all, that’s what other classes do.
And every good healer should already have an addon that tells them when to purge but remember that they are usually only going to purge the tank or themselves and it’s on a timer so if you aren’t getting purged it’s not because they aren’t doing their job it’s because they are prioritizing.
I rarely purge unless it’s something that absolutely needs to be taken off. Usually it isn’t.
Sure, they have lots of tools actually, it doesn’t mean they need to use all of them. You use what’s required to get your group through the content as easily as possible. Sometimes interrupts or purges aren’t required for that.
I think the people it really only bothers are the ones that haven’t turned of their warnings on DBM yet.
“It is said all of WoW’s Resto Shamans changed that day. They were swelled with enlightenment, emboldened that this person – nay, hero! – took time out of their day to scold them collectively. Were we all so selfless…”
Then why play that Class? Classes are balanced with their whole toolkit taken into account. If you ignore your utility kit you’re basically the worst healer in the game.
Idk, personally that’s what drew me to Shaman as my healing character.
Think of it this way, preventing damage is also an indirect form of HPS as you reduce the amount of healing you need to do.
