I feel like there is a contagious defeatist attitude going around. Many problems could be solved with some effort and coordination. There’s so many threads going around which makes pvp seem like something to dread when I finally cap. It should be about competitiveness, but more importantly, having fun. This is a game at the end of the day. Not a task to afk or cringe through in order to farm rank or rep. That mentality is purely negative so ofc we’ll get negative results.
As players all we can do is work with the systems in place or voice our opinions here. That means either queing solo at odd hours to avoid premades or accepting what happens if we don’t. We all have the ability to /lfg for people to que with just like a dungeon. The pvp environment purely player created.
Therefor its up to the player to put themselves in a position to succeed. Blizzard can’t do a thing when it comes to player mentality. Safeguards only go so far and they end up restricting options for many. Instead of asking blizzard to change things for me, I try finding ways to improve the experience for myself. It usually works out well when I do.
Yes, Solo rankers love AV. It rewards playing solo far more than WSG and AB, which requires steady wins and team play to have impact on their progress.
In AV, the most importance to be had is how many kills you can obtain in smaller brawls.
Tell me, how does my analysis that coordinating as a team, in a group format, makes no sense?
The major reason why premades are a big problem is because of the player base being 10+ higher then in vanilla and blizzard bright idea of adding xrealm bgs so quickly. They should’ve waiting till Naxx.
I dont want to hear sh1t about “but this is the way it was in vanilla” because I played vanilla and I could count on one hand the amount of premades on my server (Firetree and then Maelstrom).
BGs would be a thousand times better if they were server only. I’m sorry for the low pop ones but you knew that going in and if pvp and bgs were part of what you were looking for? then you should’ve join one of the mega servers. =)
As anything in life … people who cant achieve think those who do better things to be cheating or doing things undeserving of what they get.
Like people who think everyone who has money has to have taken it from someone else, people think those who organize, plan and have discipline are “cheating”.
The truth is that there are things we can all do as players to improve the experience for ourselves. The days of uncoordinated brawls is largely over. If you have time to /lfg for dungeons, and time to level up, than you can spare a little time to find a group. Otherwise you’ll continue to have bad experiences and quit. If you’d like to succeed than my advice is to try new things, check the results, and improve on whats working/cut what’s not.
I wouldn’t hold my breath for blizz to make game changing fixes to pvp. If pvp is important to your gameplay, than you’ll find a way to make it work.
Fact. That logic applies to every activity we choose to participate in. Everyone has an opportunity to observe and adapt to what successful people are doing.
Sure, buddy. That’s why the majority of PvP servers became basically one sided PvE servers. And your love for PvP is why your character is on Illidan, a 90%+ horde server.
Barely anyone. Let’s look at the current battlegrounds, west coast, alliance side (I am taking alliance, because the queues are near instant, so supply = demand).
There are 6 Alterac valleys running (there used to be more than 50). So for the entire west coast, there are only 240 alliance players who want to play AV at this very moment. Note that there are no premades in AV. PuGs only.
There are 37 WSG matches, so add 370 people here. Many are premades, and not “queueing for fun” but for honor only.
AB has 21 lobbies. So 315 people there.
All in all, in the entirety of the west coast, there are only 925 alliance players PvPing at this moment.
For the number of players online at this moment, the participation is pathetic.
