Too many eliminations of the distances between places can diminish a sense of the world having a meaningful size
Please explain this to me.
From a players sense of view WoW is a world of magic.
Planets literally hatch into unimaginably powerful beings…
How do portals make a world seem smaller than it is?
They fit lore wise.
They never made world feel “smaller than it is”. They made shortcuts between places that would take 10+ min to taxi to. (remember how long it takes to get from darn to gadgetzan? NOBODY wants to taxi that much time)
also Mages must be suffering from claustrophobia as they can portal to too many places at a whim.
Much like the “loot rng/limitation is there to give illusion of more reason to play” removing portals to make world seem larger is a moot point.
When you are max lvl you RARELY even visit 80% of the world. (how many ppl visit hinterlands? Heck the Greench area is only visited during xmas event.)
TL;DR removing the portals for places that arent commonly visited does nothing to make a world feel larger.
Yeah, a lot of the zones are empty and I have been to them hundreds of times. At this point, get me there as fast as possible epically the older content.
Make it a pain to visit older place or get around, I won’t go.
I am so bored with having no choice but to click on each thread pertaining to portals. Hopefully blizzard can fix my mouse so I am not forced to read these posts anymore. I also always play the newest hero class. Hopefully blizzard can fix that too.
To be fair, I don’t click on every portal thread. And also, to be fair, I don’t get why my class has anything to do with what I have to say on the forums.
The point is, no one is forcing you to read the portal complaints. Even if all of the portal complaints didn’t exist, you’d still have all of the other threads being posted in GD. So, go read those?
I think I have found your type of thread. Now this may be yet again another forum post asking what kind of monster you would be. But it beats those pesky portal threads!
Normally I’d agree but I think we need more threads on this particular issue. Next Tuesday should be quite interesting indeed once people start logging back in after the patch.
It’s fairly simple to understand in my opinion. So far in BFA it seems like that the game developers don’t play their own game. And the way they’re handling the portal room situation proves that point further, seems to me. A disheartening thing is that the Feedback and Suggestions forum was scrapped - could’ve been of some sort of use during the evolution of BFA.
