Honestly I’m not opposed to this idea, I want a Draenei Shaman anyway in TBC not as my main but as an alt. I’d be down to allow Draenei and Blood Elf in Vanilla because I think it’s crappy we have to wait so long to be able to make them for TBC.

Not to mention, people only had 2 weeks to get to lvl 60 and only way to cheat your way was to get Mage boosts. It was the worst direction that developers ever made.

Few things are more annoying than fans thinking they understand the complexities of putting game content into use. The reality is, they cannot at all. It’s not already in vanilla. They don’t have the isles, the characters, the adjustments made for TBC included in Vanilla. They’re all set to launch fresh vanilla servers and the big idea here is just to launch a bunch of TBC content? Again, it’s silly to think that this could ever happen. Stop being naive.

I think you might actually be the one being naive here, because as far as I know all the “Classic” games are now built on the retail engine and share a large portion of the code base. Do you think they are literal isles and continents that have been shrunk with a Tron laser? They are just art assets, map data, etc… they are just files.
I’m not saying they could do it in one night, but it’s nowhere near as difficult as you think it is.

You think wrong. And the bottom line is Blizzard is absolutely not going to take the effort to try and do this kind of thing. The changes they are making for this classic are the kinds of things they’ve already done. So again, it’s silly and naive to think that any such change is going to happen at all.
Nah, I actually know about this stuff. While I can’t see their project files, they most likely have it set up in a way that it wouldn’t be all that difficult. There are even private TBC servers that use a modified WOTLK client now, and that’s the old spaghetti code before they made “Classic”. Blizzard won’t do something like this if they don’t want to… maybe even because think it isn’t a good idea… but it isn’t because they can’t. Yelling at other players and calling them silly and naive for making suggestions when you aren’t any more informed on what it would take to implement just makes you sound irrational and hostile.
I thought it was a good idea, and even though there obviously is no time to make this change in something that is going live in 2 days… I’m glad people are talking about it for the future.
Private servers have already been doing it for years. There’s literally a progression server on the Wrath Client with Wrath Talents. They went to Naxx and now they’re just getting into TBC. Also I’m going to bet you don’t actually have game dev history to try to be telling other people how game content works, and calling us the naive ones here. (Especially when it’s already factually true these things can and have been achieved.)

But you are hilariously wrong about me, because I worked in the game industry in LA and San Fransisco for many years and worked on many big titles… and have released games on my own as well. If its going to be classic freash, let it be classic freash… we have alot of people wanting just classic, so let it be jsut that… Now as for what you ask for, add it to SoD, and when that gets freash, we can get those new funky changes in there… I dont see why we cant have both…
The problem though with slovely pushing the goal posts with classic, is that it will alinate the classic players, and we dont want to loose a already rapidly shrinking player base… ^.^
