Have you tried a game with a actual Hardcore mode like Minecraft?..
The HC addon and community are sufficient enough to make it feel just as official as any other game mode
If my HC druid dies, I’m not going to feel like I can just turn off the app and resurrect it. It will be dead forever.
Ya you would have to roll back your lua files and modify them a little with notepad++. Not that hard. Remember RP servers don’t mind HC players keeping none RP to guild or party chat. But open world you are basically ruining a much more long standing and actual official community. Do most HC addon users not care about the damage…cause it appears they don’t.
Yes I put it on creative and make things.
So never played on a Hardcore Minecraft server then…ya most can’t make it a day.
Furthest I got in HC minecraft was I got the eyes for the portal then a stupid creeper got me.
but eh they should just open up the SOM servers but for now the HC addon works I suppose. Still isn’t really hard tbh just don’t pull too much.
Hardcore Minecraft play normally but always need to focus. HC WoW…farm low level mobs and play the game differently from normal…
Not really playing HC for “The challenge.” I just like vanilla WoW and leveling.
It is still there, cuz you’re playing the game wrong. The game is meant to be social, and the challenge is scaled according to level and groups. You guys are anti-social, and attacking mobs that are substantially under your level and you avoid anything that is difficult because it was meant to be done with groups. Death is apart of the game, and where many people forged friendships.
Classic WoW is not Vanilla WoW
Pretty much but it is something different than the hum drum of retail.
I need to install that addon that reads the quests in an AI voice thing. I’m more attempting HC in a way that’s more of an RP thing than trying to reach 60 but that’s just me.
i don’t want to play your silly zoomer game, kiddo
Minecraft has been out since 2009…
When someone says hardcore I typically think of Diablo, where your character actually dies, gets deleted and you have a hall of dead heroes in your profile that others can view.
Hardcore in WoW in its current state isn’t really hardcore but the players do what they can with what they’ve got. The fact that there isn’t a hardcore option and that if you die you can still play that character can create bad actors in the space because of them losing their character and they want to enact that onto other people, but for the most part people seem to be playing by the rules set by the people.
It’s late (really late) where I am and I’m rambling, time to ramble in another thread.
Only MMO with hardcore that I remember was SWG. If your jedi died it was perma dead as force ghost. They need at least two official HC servers just to get these people off the RP realms. They seem to get off on hurting the RP community.
I feel like the RP community gets the short end of the stick too often, take Grobbulus for example. It’s one of the most populated servers but I think people forget that it’s also a RP server and you can bet that no or very little RP happens there.
I also think that hardcore needs 2 servers per region (1/0 for OCE) any more or less would be a bad idea honestly.

I casually RP and have ever since Vanilla. It is so true and most RP players are too nice and let themselves get rolled over.
Which is a shame really.
