I have been doing some m+ less than 15+. It seems like DPS constantly pulls packs either intentionally or unintentionally and it wipes the group.
Now I’m leveling a new bdk. Omg, tanking leveling dungeons on my server cluster is absolutely horrific.
I know I’m a solid enough tank considering my m+ accomplishments for the past two seasons (solid enough to tank leveling dungeons, having timed an 18+ easily as tank and a two time Keystone Master as tank, could go further but got bored and quit). But no one respects tanks at all in lower dungeons.
No wonder no one likes to tank.
I just did a run with a fast walking Hunter that ran ahead and pulled every pack.
This isn’t a unique scenario either. I’d say roughly 70% of dungeons have at least one person (if not multiple that pull trash for me).
I am certainly skilled enough to chase after these children, but I have no interest in doing so. So now I’ve made a series of strategies to punish bad players this includes just playing bad myself. For example the hunter pulls a bunch of mobs, ok, then I’ll pulls my own pack wait for the hunter to die then save the healer from the mobs after. Seems like I’m training people up to behave well in dungeons.
The worse I play as a tank in these leveling dungeons the better people behave. Seems opposite to what should be.

Or you could pull more in lower level content, including low M+ keys. Learn how to actually pace a dungeon properly based on your other group members and their gear.

Ya because you need more than 2.1k io to tank leveling dungeons?
I don’t pull slow. I pull as fast as possible as to not wipe the group.
DPS in 15+ or greater do not have these bad habits.
This is why there are a shortage of tanks. Because DPS bully new tanks in leveling dungeons and the new tanks do not know things will get better in organised or high level content where the bad DPS can’t cut it.

Speaking strictly for leveling dungeons. Some dps are jerks and pull ahead, don’t see it much when I’m playing. Some tanks are jerks and hold the group hostage because they don’t get their own way, again, don’t see it much.
Healers are just the laid back dude who likes silently watching the group fall apart due to infighting.

I wish dpsers would learn what a tank is there for and learn the skills to play as a team and not a ffs individual from another game ,but sadly, that’s how they were taught to play.

This is one of the main reasons I don’t want to tank.
I don’t want to deal with headaches (dps).
I of course do not pull things as dps.
There was this other thread “DEAR HEALERs”,
its not really worth dealing with these headaches to tank or heal.
The only occasion i could think of tanking/healing in the future is, I’m doing it exclusively for friends. (and I mean a group with ONLY friends, not even a single PUG)

Honestly this isn’t always the case. I see plenty of dps who pull for the tank but don’t actually contribute any dps besides pulling mobs.

The groups you are in that are full of bad DPS who tries to back seat tank and pull are the people you want to put on your ignore list so you never have to tank for them again.

Alright, but bear in mind that some people are new to tanking, and trying to deal with the anxiety that comes with it. Still learning, and trying to play safe.
This kind of tank appears both in leveling dungeons and in lower keys as well.
So, if a tank is pulling slow, we shouldn’t - always - assume that is just because it’s a lazy or ill intended tank.

you right. i shouldnt broad stroke a brush saying its plane as this but majority of the time i reckon its the tank not pulling quick.

often i find people standing at boss waiting for everyone to say " r " like…
clearly we are ready. lets go. healer is full mana or drinking. lets bust this boss
i paid for the game and my time. Ill do whatever i want with it. But that aside as someone who plays a tank idc about picking up after the dps. Anyone who does in my opinion is salty they arent as needed as they would like.
I mean you’ve only done trivial content so your opinion really isn’t that valid
You will also make tanks happy when you do not run away from them when you have aggro.

No the hunters just feign death after pulling and wiping the group.
If I pull for you its for 2 reasons:
- Tank asked me to tricks and pull to send mobs to snap point.
- The tank is slow as molasses.
