When I was a teen playing WC3, I’m talking the original WC3 not the Reforged edition, I was hyper focused on the final battle between Arthas and Illidan. And I wondered what would happen to Illidan if he grabbed Frostmourne and donned the Helm instead.
I even photoshopped the helm of domination onto Illidan’s head. What I witnessed was pure nightmare fuel.
But THIS… This brings out that same memory in me.
I’ll take 50.

Eh, this just dilutes the Demon Hunter further. This is a class that’s entirely dependent on an extremely specific, non-negotiable image.
And sure, the Death Knight has some specific imagery demands too, but… nothing like the demon hunter. Nor are we branded with a singular purpose.
“I gave everything to destroy the Legion!”
“Okay, cool. We did that five expansions ago. This expansion it’s spider people and an evil purple lady.”
The Death Knight is the dark/evil warrior archetype of WarCraft. The Demon Hunter is… the Demon Hunter. And pretty much all the biggest, baddest demons have been dealt with for a really long time. It’s a class with an identity too strong to not be awkward and weird outside the extremely limited, extremely specific circumstances burned into its very name.

It wouldn’t be the first time, because Consume Magic was originally a DK spell (called Reap Magic) in the BfA beta.

Haven’t the war glaive models typically reflected the theme of the content and/or its other rewards? (At least since BFA I guess)
For example there were Zandalari themed war glaives found in Zandalar, despite the fact that neither of the playable Troll races have access to the only class that can wield them. (RIP Shadow Hunter themed player characters 
)
I’m in favor of replacing Demon Hunters with Shadow Hunters.
Just forcefully race change every Blood Elf Demon Hunter into a Troll Shadow Hunter, and every Night Elf Demon Hunter into a Gnome Shadow Hunter (because of the Sand Gnomes).
That would be the best day ever.
