Dear Devs,
What If instead of creating new classes…Rework the Hero class talent tree and add a third… for Example The Death Knight would have a third hero class talent tree to customize them into an official necromancer!
By simply making a tree with all ranged attacks, enabling them to know use staves or daggers with Intellect… changing the pvp talent reanimation into a Minion collecting ability, instead of using that same old zombie or skeleton minion…you can now Possess almost any humanoid Npc ( but you can only use one along with your summoning undead abilities) and keep your collection.
Also ! tired of the same old minion army? then use the new Nerubian undead Glyph to change your humanoid army of the dead into random Nerubian undead army! Class Customizing can be a new method of making an orginal class into something new…
Now hunters could now have more dark ranger abilities as well as just a ranger class, Priest could now become a witch class or a Mage could now become a Chronomancer !! instead of blink, make your enemy back track their attacks and appear a few yards away coming out of a worm hole or instead of polymorph… turn your enemy into a baby with a simple glyph!
Here’s another customization for all classes …now change your race into a large Aspect Dragon /flying mount with a simple glyph …and Yes wow already have something similar, with a staff and a potion mount… but remember this is customization so there will be variety of looks …so not only you can transmog gear but now you can transmog your class ( sort of)
A lot of players, myself included, would feel cheated by this. Like, just make a 4th spec for Death Knight? I really, really, honestly, do not understand why they aren’t doing it lol. Especially if they’re gonna go through the half effort of adding in another Hero Talent tree and to do it through that, like, just go all the way with it
Edit- I mean it’s a good idea. I like it because it would give us more spec variability and the option to play cool new things like the intel based summoner/necromancer. But its also like you’re grasping / pleading with blizzard, “What if you only did it like this, that way it’s easier for you???” SOOO it’s like again lol just add the 4th spec and do it right. My 2 cents =)

I like that idea.
I presented my ideas about SUB-SPECS a year or so ago. The option to remain JUST arcane should also remain.
Arcane:
Chronomancer (time magic)
Netherweaver (creatures from the nether)
Runemaster (ancient symbols and glyphs)
Enhancement:
Stormbinder (wind and thunder, one-handed)
Earthbinder (tank, terrain manipulation)
Affliction:
Plaguebringer (more dots, more akin to current playstyle)
Soulswinger (lol) (drain playstyle, spectral minions etc)
Shadow:
Voidweaver (more blasts, procs, void creatures, insanity resource etc)
Mindbender (psychic control, mental agony, more dot oriented)
Discipline:
Barriers and more about proactive shield setups
Atonement-focused
Balance:
Celestial
Nature
Unholy:
Plague (diseases and damage over time)
Necromancer (also some DoT action, but less so. more about command over the dead and summoning, death magic)
Mistweaver:
Spirit energy (channeling, ancestral spirits and a lot like old-school MW)
Chi and Fistweaving (more about healing over time and fistweaving, rolling in and out of melee range, etc)
Current hero talents merge two specs into one instead of building on inherent spec identity. I really hope sub-specs will become a thing.

Necromancer would be even better as a full class. A 4th spec seems limiting.

Yeah, potential is immense!
I forgot to include these (they were in later posts in the thread):
Elemental:
Tempest (lightning-based)
Flamecaller (lava and fire)
Restoration Shaman:
Tidecaller (water-based, more about aoe healing and hots)
Earthwarden (more about mitigation, strong direct heals and of course the earth shield)
Holy Priest:
Seraphic (angels, area of effect healing, hots)
Vengeance:
Soulwarden (soul energy, self-healing, spectral defenses)
Felreaver (more chaotic, more damage oriented
Guardian:
unsure about name, but a focus on nature magic and damage reflection, maybe something with enhanced barkskin and Thorns ability?
Resto Druid:
One mastering HoTs, another mastering the art of preventative healing (healing just before taking damage, even with shields) and a third one venturing more towards instant burst healing.
