Dear blizzard

Because it’s a waste of development time to do so. They’re going to focus on giving us Midnight content, not remaking 18yr old Eversong Woods and Ghostland zones in HD textures.

In a perfect world they would have a team whose only job is modernizing older content to current graphical fidelity, but this isn’t a perfect world.

Right, but that was a massive undertaking. This would be similar. Which is why I said it makes more sense to build new.

Maybe they are for Midnight but like I also said maybe leave Silvermoon and Exodar alone and make the open areas open to flying mount since there are flight points already so there is an aerial view of the zones in those areas.

The difference between the old Vanilla zones and the Cata starter areas, is that you WOULD fly over a lot of the old Vanilla zones with Flight paths, so they had to model pretty much everything there, while the Cata starter places could be left as cardboard cutouts as there weren’t really any Flight paths to go over them.

People very famously complained about Cata being so focused on redoing low level content that it cost the expansion raids, and revamping Silvermoon at all was considered to be as much work as the rest of the EKs.

Besides they couldn’t revamp it to be closer to concept art (which is basically Green Suramar) without redoing the city and Quel’danas entirely.

Plus then they’d probably need to do a pass on the villages in the forest to match the updated architecture.

I don’t think I’ve visited those areas in about 18 years.

And there are no flightpaths near Silvermoon or the Exodar ?

All they have to do is make a certain point near both where flying mounts not allowed .
Say right by the entrances . Once past those points in the zones one can mount a flying mount.

Don’t update Exodar and Silvermyst/Bloodmyst. Bulldoze them and build the new promised city from the heritage quest

Nah, Exodar just needs to float like it should be doing right now. Build a city underneath it instead.

The ceiling would have to be much lower, otherwise Silvermoon is going to look like a clown show. And you’d be crossing it faster than you cross Siren Isle.

The flight paths are cleverly set to avoid the issue - they fly low, Falconwing’s flight path goes under the gates and the one at Shepherd’s Gate doesn’t actually go near the built up parts of the city.

(Also Exodar is less of an issue apparently)

They could do that, but then the community would scream about not being able to fly in that spot :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Because that’s what people do.
Blizzard is going to have to wait to unlock flying in those zones until they do a big overhaul, which takes time. And time takes money. Blizzard doesnt like to spend money or pay people. So… Gonna be a bit of a wait :>

Oh yeah that’s the other issue. Silvermoon, as designed, is an old school raid layout.

I guess not everyone pays attention to the dev interviews about upcoming expansions.

At least they will be pleasantly surprised.

Exodar will never float again. All of its working components were stripped and used to build the Vindicaar.

It’s replacement was planned and commited to by Velen as another floating city in the heritage quest. Exodar’s days are numbered.

i fail to see the problem

Did they specifically say they’re redoing the Outland map zones?

Ah okay. I’m slightly behind on my lore then. lol

But there is clearly the sentiment that some people do want it changed.
