So it takes 110k honor to get from 5 to 7 but it also takes 110k to get from 6 to 7. Make this make sense.

6 to 7 is 45k. There may be other r7 numbers that appear in Ranker, those would actually be higher half ranks and ranks if the rank cap was higher.

I want to preface my statement by saying that I have no real understanding of the honor system. However, to my knowledge you need a certain amount of honor in a single week to reach any particular rank and it doesn’t really matter what rank you currently are.
i used the ranker addon to see where i was going to land from rank 3 to rank 4 and it said i needed 50k more honor to get to rank 4, however I ignored it and got rank 4 anways, and it tells me i can go from rank 4 to rank 7 if i get 110k honor this week.
Bottom line, i think that ranker addon is just very generic and doesnt actually give you real advice

It’d more more intuitive sense if there weren’t these caps in place.
Basically, each week there are honor thresholds to “prove you belong to rank X”. And the game adjusts your rank upwards to move you towards the rank you proved that you belong in, with a modifier in place.
Earning 110k honor is not proving you deserve rank 7, it is proving you deserve rank 8. But rank 8 doesn’t exist yet. If you are rank 5, if the game would try to adjust you to rank 8 you will hit rank 7 because that’s the cap. If you are rank 5, if the game would try to adjust you to rnak 8 you will hit rank 7 because that’s still the cap.
If rank 8 did exist, you would see a difference between outcomes of being rank 4 and rank 5 - there would be some partial progress in rank 7 towards rank 8.
It’s 77,500 from 5 to 6, but if you farm the extra to 110,000 in that same week, you can gain an extra rank. It’s an incentive to save time if you put extra effort in 1 week. It saves you a total from having to farm 77,500.
I’m not saying it’s the best system, or that I agree with this, but it’s still 10x better than the old system where it decays and your rank depends on what everyone else is doing on the server. I’m just curious on what 12 to 13 or 13 to 14 is going to look like.
12-13 is 1 week of 500k and another around 410k i believe. Same with 13-14. Id check my druid on era who is currently a marshal but work calls.
Just be lucky like the bug that put people from rank 3 to rank 7 with under 1100 honor earnedm
