Dear Blizzard - Constructive Feedback

Dear Blizzard:

I’m sure some people on these forums would describe me as a shill based on my posts. I firmly believe in constructive criticism, not incessant negativity. I took a communications class in college and it taught me lifelong lessons on how to communicate with other humans.

That being said, we need more communication about 9.1 and its release timeframe. Several months ago when I started seeing posts about people’s friends list being empty I responded that that was not my experience. Well, it’s getting close now. I would say I’m seeing roughly 35% (just my personal experience) of people on, assuming at the start of shadowlands it was 100%, as the baseline. I definitely have an appreciation that there is a cyclical nature to player participation and patch cycles but it was nothing like this towards the end of BFA.

The last few times I have tried to run mythics on my alts it has been difficult to find a group and I just gave up. I am not going to wait 20 minutes for a group (especially as a healer). I understand you DPS out there that have waited longer than that even when the servers were thriving. This game absolutely suffers when a lot of people are not online.

Please communicate with us a little bit more regarding time frames. I understand you do not want to dampen the TBC launch with 9.1 news, but please give us the light at the end of the drought tunnel we are in.

I’m so desperate for something new in-game I started working on a mistweaver monk.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

A long time Blizz customer across multiple titles.

ps: buff rdruid dps;)

WoW not having a modern day LFG system totally lets new players join up then never come back.

Are you suggesting there should be a LFG for mythic +?

Suggesting they rethink how players join groups. Maybe not a LFD tool, but geeze not a add-on that looks like it was designed when Battlenet had the Opennet as an option.

Gotcha, yea, it could use a revamp.

I mean I was talking to a few vet players I know IRL who still play Retail (was shocked when I heard it) they both said it’s absolutely amazing if they find a new player who sticks around post M10. Both acknowledged the game has a problem retaining new players because the speed in which you hit max level, and the learning curve of max level group content is insane.

I sincerely hope that Blizzard listens to you but the opening tone of your post is…eh yikes.

Yet another self described “constructive”, “non-negative” person who’s probably going to turn into another angry poster when Blizzard ignores you anyway.

How else did you think this forum came to be filled with a lot of negative posts? :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah, I’m a realist. They are not going to respond to me. I keep in mind it’s just a game, I doubt they could do anything to truly anger me when I can always just unsub if I’m annoyed.

But if they take too long for 9.1 then I’ll be playing more Anno 1800… lol

Good so if you’re a realist, I guess you are well informed of the fact that Blizzard generally ignores most of constructive criticism posted on their own PTR forums since the beginning of BFA?

Do you think people magically became angry at Blizzard? This has built up over time and now the can of worms exploded to a point where there are simply threads posting “WoW sucks”.

Now when you don’t understand the context behind it, that’s when you get people thinking “Oh I’ll never be like that. Post something constructive instead of whining”.

Which is exactly why I said the opening tone of your post was at best…yikes.

You and I have argued before, so we don’t have to get into too much of it here, but I think most people do not know how to communicate effectively.

But obviously you and I disagree on that point so we can all just move on from that. I respect your opinion.

Cheers.

You could choose to disagree with what I said.

I would generally state it’s my opinion, but in this case, it’s a proven fact. Even recently, something which has never happened before happened:

In an interview with one of the lead WoW devs, sloot, a streamer literally asked why they ignore constructive feedback especially from their own PTR forums.

So whether you don’t agree with me or not, part of your own opinion is formed on baseless grounds.

You are one of those people that just can’t move on I see. Please show me documentation of all of your “proven facts” and I’ll consider changing my opinion. Otherwise, go troll somewhere else.

Already did which you aren’t able to counter:

You have nothing to back up your points other than your own experiences on these forums while I have given you solid proof of an actual Lead Dev being questioned live about ignoring feedback.

So yeah I see your tone is more like “Listen to me or I’ll classify you as negative” especially when you say this:

A streamer asking a question is now “proven fact”?? Yikes, that is a high ceiling you have there for a “proven fact.”

I’m done here bud. You are one of the people who cannot communicate positively with others. Best of luck in life, Dalfurane, I’m sure that negativity and and excellent communication will take you far.

I’m sorry but are you of all people after your generalized view about the forums speaking about positivity?

Really?

It’s more of a proven fact that a Lead WoW dev took that question and chose to answer it with the generic “We try our best to incorporate as much as possible” than anything you’ve ever posted about the community.

In fact, you have chosen to call me a troll here just because I showed you the context in which you are wrong:

And also just resorted to a condescending tone which hasn’t changed from the OP when you post these kind of things:

And keep in mind, you’re talking about positivity here while I have been nothing but civil and posting stuff which is at best, a debate and have never called you any names and only pointed out that you are being far too negative against the community in your OP here:

Once again, my replies are based on solid foundations and I have quoted every single proof I have spoken to you about.

Good to know that you admit it wasn’t a problem until it was your problem.

I do agree, they could be a little more transparent and forward when it comes to communication. They don’t have to but they should.

I read this post and thought the same thing. Now it’s affecting me? This is a BIG problem. Dear Blizz, Help.

I’m surprised his friends have lasted this long. Most of mine checked out months ago and are gone or playing TBC.

It would be nice to get a little 9.1 update.

Geez guys…I just said “it wasn’t my experience” – that is a lot different from “the problem does not exist”

as Raj says in Big Bang Theory: “this is not a safe place” lol

Friendly advice: don’t call yourself a name, don’t list qualifications from college classes, don’t mention “taught me lifelong lessons” - makes you sound like you’re better than everyone else. Opens the door to negative intruders missing you’re point.

Make your point. Too many words throws chum in the water and the sharks will gather.

At that point your point will be lost and you will be spending the rest of the time on defense.

But the contributions of those posters are completely irrelevant. A good point, if it is good, is a good point and stands independent of the noise that follows it. Unless you actually think someone from Blizzard reads the forums is swayed to ignore good feedback because of ad hominem trolling that follows it- in that case all is lost anyway.
