Dear Blizz, you've lost my interest

The cartel chip thing really was the final straw for me. I cancelled my sub the day you announced it, runs out in June. We can all argue til we’re blue in the face about whether this implementation has merit, but it doesn’t matter. The fact is, you let players believe (for months) that it was one thing: dinars. You even called it that repeatedly. Then you rug-pulled it, bait-and-switch, whatever. It’s not dinars, it’s BLP. Which fine, that has a place, but that’s not what you called it. That’s not what you led us to believe it was. You can’t lean on implied language and expect players to read between the lines, when the plain language you use has a different meaning.

Now, you refuse to listen to your playerbase when 90% of them are telling you the same thing. Not to mention most of your “influencers” as well. Your attempts at providing reasons for your choices are wholly inconsistent with your past (and current!) actions and/or illogical to the point of absurdity. For some reason you can’t just be honest with us and tell us it’s just your own arbitrary feelings about how this should work. Why are you letting hubris and faulty logic guide your hand when your players are, in great chorus, telling you the opposite? “You think you do, but you don’t.” Ring a bell? You’re going to claim to be concerned about players having items too powerful for the content they do going into the next tier, but then throw the Annulet, Cyrce’s, and now this 11.1.7 belt at us while apparently pretending you have no control over tuning of S3? Is that supposed to be a serious argument?

Anyway, this bad faith approach and even worse attempts at explanations have killed any care I had for the rest of the season. Well, that and how you’re drip-feeding 11.1.5 in an exhaustingly transparent attempt to string subs along. Sorry, not interested. You duty is to make us happy to pay you for the entertainment, not feel bitter, resentful, and taken advantage of. When the mask drops and the monetization of my time spits in my face, it turns me off. And others too I’m sure.

And Nightfall, which sounded awesome on the roadmap, is complete, absolute slop. Part of me wanted the mogs but… no, what a tremendous waste of time. You managed to make something even less engaging or interesting than Siren Isle. Congrats? At least the Isle had some interesting lore tidbits. Speaking of lore, has anyone watched the TWW cinematic lately? Where is that story? Where is that heart? Where is that grandeur and scale? It all disappeared as soon as the campaign ended in 11.0. The A-plot has completely ghosted outside of a couple blink-and-you’ll-miss-them moments in cinematics that move the football less than a yard.

So I’m raid logging these days, because I just don’t care about anything in the game outside of my responsibilities to my guild anymore (for the record, we’re 2/8M so far). I figure two months is enough heads up to have given my RL that I’m gonna be out. This is like early BFA, or all of SL. I cancelled then too. It was the same reasons. Slop and hubris. At some point, I won’t renew. Who knows, maybe it’s this time. My interest is certainly low enough and my Steam backlog is pretty big. Anyway, bye.

I lost interest after hearing there’s going to be more gear upgrades

I’m just not interested in an infinite treadmill

You’re playing the wrong game then.

Also it’s not infinite when there is a finite number of upgrade levels.

You’re going to be in for a shocker come season 3…

I reached the finite amount of levels

And now there’s more

Let’s just call it indefinite

Oh joy

I haven’t looked into S3 at all

Just want to say that your name brought back childhood memories of me reading the Scion of Shannara

Then they had to make a show about it and ruin the series …just like they did with the wheel of time.

Uh… isn’t that what it always was for most people?

I’m enjoying it. I love how the dailies work with turn ins close by.

Blizz asks people to post here sometimes when they cancel their sub.

a bit over dramatic, but you do you

speaking of losing interest

Thats because they have to admit most things they do are to slow you down and extend your retention, gameplay experience is second to that.

Hyperbole detected, feedback discarded.

Try to make less emotional and more fact based feedback, thanks.

So that’s why they sped up leveling, sped up gearing, introduced catch up gear, and even dinars in their current state.

All of those speed up the progress.

The complaint seems to be “what…I have to actually play the game?”

Trying to figure out what they have done to actually slow things down…back a few years ago when they nerfed raid loot quantity?

“It’s not an infinite treadmill if it stops moving for 1 day, then keeps going for the rest of eternity bro”

This is why the whole dinar thing was an absolute debacle. If they had consulted one person who’s not a mythic raider, they never would have been surprised by the community perception. They’re living in an ever dwindling echo chamber.

The shift in raid design and addon philosophy gives me a little hope, but even with the iterations on dinars, it’s still insulting. They need to make a pass on giga-buffing the m+ trinkets (or nerfing raid trinkets to m+ levels) to make it remotely fair.

But that’s the rub. It’s not fair, it’s not meant to be fair, and “fair” isn’t something they strive for. Ion wants everyone to want to mythic raid.

“You’re not giving me free loot in the way that I want it”

Can I have your gold?

How bad is this sub’s short term memory? S1 had BiS trinkets coming from M+.

I’ve been sort of wondering about that myself.

Idk not to argue, maybe you should take a break for a while? I’m somewhat taking a break from WoW, I’ve been checking the Forums and keeping up with the TP cosmetics and in a week will get back on after being gone 1 month (playing WH 40K SM2) , then I can go into all the content that will be less buggy :man_shrugging:t5: that’s how I’ve been coping with how they come out with a new patch or expansion, less frustrating playing that way for me. But do what you feel you have to, everyones tolerance levels are different, :v:t5:

Sub? Did you forget this isn’t Reddit? And remind me again which m+ trinkets were better than swarmlords authority, spymaster, or treacherous transmitter?

While you ponder that, I also want to point out that while raiders have access to m+ trinkets. M+ players do not have access to raid trinkets.
