So this isn’t a “nerf the Ret pallys QQ!” Post. Just simply looking for advice on how to deal with them… I used to think disarming wings to stop their burst and dropping a defensive like D stance/retaliation if needed was the way to go, but that all went out the window when a Ret did over 20k damage while disarmed and I had Dstance/die by the sword on. This was at 1800mmr. Happened multiple times, where I called out to my team mates that I was good and I died in seconds.
Then again in open world situation/bgs… just bad luck that it’s been so frequent for me lately I guess.
Is there any class that does the same thing to Ret? Or has a better way to shut down this kind of damage?
100% serious. you are not waiting for the damage to happen. just assume it will and it’s going to destroy you. assume you’re at 10% instantly and act accordingly.
Ok, that seems ridiculous, but I believe you.
Still curious if Ret feels this pressure from any other class or if it’s just wings/bubble and gg for life?
when u see seraphim/badge/any indicator rets about to pop then immediately disarm/bolt/fear/ if he has trinket up get ready to insta disarm/fear/bolt their trinket then leap away after those are done, if no leap then id trade parry if it’s reg wings and your healer doesn’t have a cd to trade
ret can tv/judge/wake/divine toll/hammer of wrath while disarmed
pay attention to their aura of reck stacks of wings is down so you know to have disarm or bolt or something up to counter
bolt is prob better than disarm since most rets will pool their combo points before bursting so they’ll still get a tv and other big dam off in the disarm
it’s mainly just seraphim, it’s nearly as strong as wings on a 45s cd. if you see seraphim you need to immediately CC the ret. you have about 1.5 seconds to do this, as you’ll get globaled soon after
TSG
And it’s happened in 2s, 3s and everywhere else… that said before starting this thread I didn’t know how many abilities Ret can hit with when disarmed so that will greatly change how I play.
