I’m just a noob still learning, but for the first time, I played a priest yesterday that seemed to have holy ward up every single time i’d go for a stun out of stealth as rdruid in 2s. Obviously this lead to a fear right after.
How do rdruid’s handle holy/disc priests in 2s? Do you just track Holy ward I’m guessing? Do you generally just not go for stuns on priest?
You can easily get rid of holy ward as a resto druid by using incap roar in bearform as guardian affinity, you lose the feral affinity but it’s worth dropping vs holy priest typically to my understanding. Worst case scenario you wanna still play feral aff, you just rake the priest then bash after ward is off into clone. Can also build up points for a maim, then meld > rake stun (getting rid of ward) > maim > clone etc. If you’re worried about getting feared, just be quick with your combos, most priests won’t react fast enough before you spend 2 globals.
I’d be a little afraid between the time it takes to rake, then use bash that the priest would be spamming his fear button and get it off between my rake and bash. Same goes for time between using rake and maim. Perhaps I’m not visualizing how fast this should go.
Just have your partner get it
Can’t you just cast roots to proc it or even clone? Clone range is short but Idk about roots or if that even removes it.

So a bit of background info, I was playing rdruid (me)/assass rogue, vs mage/priest in 2s. I was playing feral affinity. I had a number of opportunities to restealth and rogue was hammering mage, so I went for a number of rake stuns (out of stealth) on priest and it seems like he was immune to every single one…including bear stun a couple times. These could have easily won the game, but of course were followed up by fears which then lead to pollies causing us to lose. I suppose I just need to keep track of when ward is up so I don’t go for a stun thinking it will go through. I just wasn’t sure if rdruids just don’t usually go for rake stuns on priests because of this? or maybe another strat?
I think you can use bigdebuffs and it puts it’s icon over their nameplate when it’s up, last 30 seconds too so it’s pretty dumb.
Probably depends on what you run, but I’ve heard some melee just tell their druids to play max range and not worry about pushing in and just PvE heal the entire time.
it really depends on what class you are playing with. If your partner has no worth it way to remove ward (warrior for example) then your best bet is incap roar. You are correct about potentially being feared in between globals as you are getting the ward off, so you might have to incap roar then immediately move away from fear, then go for a leap bash, but don’t forget about greater fade as well. By the way only holy priests can have holy ward and greater fade, not disc (I guess shadow has g fade as well). Also If the priest is just standing at a pillar it will be hard to just freely clone the ward off. If they are standing out in the open you could maybe just clone it off. It’s all situational.

did your partner get it yet
Roar it off my boy, cooldown lines up and its really easy for you to just roar ward off in to bash clone.
