Just a friendly reminder that the precedent was set back in 2004 with people referring to the dungeon as VC. If any one chooses to call it DM (Which stands for Diremaul) they will reveal their noobness and people will immediately know that they were not a vanilla OG (original gangster).
The reason why it was such a popular name is due to the quest to kill Van Cleef, which was a main motivating factor for why people ran deadmines in the first place. However since then, Dire Maul has appeared which only strengthens the position of calling it VC, otherwise there would be deep confusion regarding the DM acronym. The counter argument to this position is that you need a direction for diremaul such as Dire Maul East (DME). This may add a bit of clarity however if a group intends to run multiple Dire Maul instances in one go, its easier to refer to their endeavor as DM. Or one could suggest running DM (Without the group yet having determined which wing). Given all this evidence its fairly clear that calling deadmines DM is the inferior solution. Now that the objective facts have been presented, we will discuss the conjecture regarding where this decision (VC vs DM) could potentially lead an individual into either order or chaos.
I conjecture that the ones clinging to DM live a life of nihilism and chaos, not knowing right from wrong, or up from down. Order will always evade them and when they seek to make sense of the world around them, they will continue to be confused and baffled by having not only given up common rationality but deliberately betraying it and twisting the knife into all things sense making. So for the sake of creating a more rational world please use VC instead of DM or forever be lost in darkness.
