Please do something so only the party lead can mark mobs.
I run 16 twenty keys per week across 2 bdks and ive noticed that the weakaura automarking in keys is extremely distracting.
It does not help a single damn person when you pull a pack of 6 or 7 mobs and theres 4 icons that go up automatically distracting people from the castbars.
All it does is add clutter to distract idiots from not looking at cast bars.
It’s super freaking toxic to have the game being played for me and detrimental to the novice players imo.
Please do something to prevent automarking by non partyleads.
The auto marking is the sole reason i stopped using DBM in patch 9.3 in raids and started exclusively using bigwigs. I cannot stand automarking. I don’t like being forced by other players to deal with random markers that distract people from interrupting the one mob in the pack taht will actually kill them which i usually mark with a skull.
Insanely frustrating.

I have had dbm for years and have never experienced this automarking. I’m guessing this is purely a weakaura problem.

Yeah there is a weakaura that does it.
DBM also does it in raids and thats why I uninstalled dbm.
Seriously when you pull a pack of 6 or 7 mobs and theres 4 icons taht go up automatically taht does not help a god damn single person.
All it does is add clutter to distract idiots from not looking at cast bars.
The only time i could see this weakaura actually being useful is in a coordinated group using voice to call out I got star, i got moon etc. And know theyre killing star first.
People don’t even know theyre sabotaging their keys using it. It’s a distraction.
I shouldnt have to ask people to turn off their weakauras at the start of every key.

Wha? Don’t think DBM does that and WeakAuras from my understanding is generally just UI stuff might be something else honestly no clue.
it’s a weakaura that automarks in keys
it’s dbm taht automarks in raids.
Imo in keys only the party leader should be allowed to mark similar to how in raids only the raid leader can mark.
This would solve the problem.
I find this new automarking weakaura that half the population uses to be extremely toxic and overbearing.
“Hello everyone. Before we drop the key can you please disable auto marking?”

yeah ive tried that. some peopel straight up leave the key and others don’t listen at all and leave their weakaura on. super tilting.
Ive had runs where i straight up ask 5 pulls in a row for them to turn it off and they dont respond.
Make it so only the party lead can mark and the problem goes away
Before key starts
“Rogue get star, pala green, I purple”
Thats kicks and stops covered for the majority of packs in the whole key. Obviously you might have to assign two people for things like stormspeakers in no or constructs in CoS and you’d use mob names there not marks, but it’s still a great way to make sure off the rip nobody is overlapping kicks.
I can’t even see the actual marks on my UI almost at all. They just change the colour of my Nameplate.

It does? Perhaps there’s a setting I have to enable? The one time I was a raid lead in LFR (lol), it didn’t do it.
yeah theres a setting. only people with raid lead will enable the automarking with dbm. so you can use dbm without raidlead and avoid the issues which is the solution i am proposing for keys.
I was watching a video the other day from Preach about WoW addons and he mentioned that Blizzard and the WeakAuras team are working on some sort of compromise to make WeakAuras less powerful. I have no idea what form that will take or how far along they are. It may address this concern.
That was specifically with regards to weak auras that are typically considered to be ‘Smart’. Meaning things that are able to change their assignment priorities based on additional logic and not just having players in a basic list. All auto marker does is mark listed mobs based on proximity as long as they’re further than a few yards away.
I dont even get why people need to mark mobs. Just nuke/kick the most powerfull/one that needs kicks
Only marks thats needed are on the tank and healer, so people know where to stand
So this is a new and added definition for toxic? lol

Because if you take a pack that has a mob that needs kicking in it, and then combine that with a pack that has two mobs that need kicking in it, you now have 3 mobs that need kicking and need to make sure two people don’t kick the same one.
Then dont combine it or say before who to kick what.
Or what i do, wait for the last sec to kick, if somone elce kicks before i move onto the next mob and repeat
I did say who’s kicking what, before the key even started by assigning each DPS player a colour and telling them which colour I was kicking.
And if they both cast at the same time? Or the other person is also kicking late?
Sure if its babys first dugg then mark. If not then most people have enough brain cells to know who to kick and when. But caz your a lev 10 you havent seen any of tjen and the dugg you do can just get faceroll, lol
(but really, mabye post on your main. A lev 10 taking about end game stuff can look a bit trolly at times)
My main’s on EU: Ellipsìs - Tarren Mill
At least I think the accent goes that way…
Pics or i call bs, lol
(You can just change characters, right?)
