In classic i played with a few guys and had a great time. One of the people started a guild. however slowly i have been finding myself mostly alone or completely alone in the guild. When people login i say hello and there is no response. I ask how people are doing and no response.
At this point the people i played with, others than the guild leader is not on the original toons anymore or they aren’t playing at all. The guild leader is quiet too now.
At what point do I cut bait and move on. I originally wanted to join a true rp guild, but these guys were nice. Now it feels like retail where nobody says anything
Might be time to try a new guild. When i started playing 11 years ago i went through quiet a few before i landed at one that i stayed with forore then a few weeks.
A lot of people made guilds just for a guild tag, not to actually be in a guild and do guild stuff.
Do they have a discord? Ive notuces people in voice chat on discord seem to pay less attention to chat in game.
This^. Usually, Discord info is in guild info, and most active guildies are in voice chat all the time, sometimes even when they are not playing.
just gquit and move on
Well, do people really talk to gnomes? Thats the problem right there!
You’re having an extremely atypical experience. I’d give it a day or two, to see whether it’s just the difference between midweek and weekend (people might have to be at work), and if there’s no improvement I’d start looking for a more active guild.
Many players don’t realize how anti social they are when it comes to MMOs, you just gotta cut your losses and try again. Don’t be afraid of the gigahugeguilds even if they are full of disgusting cliques and elitest officers the guild chat is usually lively.
Classic and retail guilds in terms of activity were always like that. Its true some people might be nice but if the guild isn’t that active then yeah its time to find a new one - if you want to. Your choice in either helping it to be active, or leaving it for somewhere more active.
To add onto that, I joined a few guilds on classic before I found one that had like 40-50 people on at a time. Least amount on was 20, but at most like under 10 people will actually say anything at all which is good for me lol. 3
If you really like the guild and people, I would give it a little more time to see if things change. It could be different at different times of the day for how active the guild is. But even if that’s the case, if you are always on at a certain time and it’s just dead, no point in really hanging around because a silent guild isn’t enjoyable for many.
If it stays the same and doesn’t get better, I would definitely look for a different guild.
I typically gquit any time I’m the only member online unless I have a good reason to stay.
If you come into the game solo and are looking for a guild to join (my approach generally), you’ll likely go through several before you find one that clicks with you. Don’t be afraid to bail out if nobody is communicating and playing together!
