Every battleground, it’s the same horde pre-made scum bags who play 20 hours a day, with their flask of the titans, rolling over on alliance pugs like nothing. Not one single battleground is a pug vs pug. Horde get instant ques and no nerfed rep gains, like alliance had to deal with in AV back in classic.
What a complete joke. Tons of alliance “rankers” sitting dead in graveyards, competing with each other to see who cracks first and quits, with being constantly beat down by the same 20 nerds all day long. Apparently everyone had to stack alliance, and Blizzard doing absolutely nothing to prevent such imbalance, like they did with classic / tbc. So we’re forced to see the same 2 pre-made groups of horde all day long.
What fun is it, to stay awake 20 hrs a day as horde, and farm easy wins and rep with alliance literally handing you the games 100% of the time ? To complete amongst each other to see who can do it more a day ? Wow imagine putting your life on hold to do that 140 hrs per week for a couple months.
Enjoy the rank 14 titles in a dead game, where your characters go nowhere. Like you all in life
I agree completely. I’m rank 8 and I was pushing for rank 10 this week and just quit. I did 20 BGs yesterday, 10 WSG and 10 AB. I played the SAME 3 premades in WSG and the SAME 2 premades in AB. That was 20 games and I played and I played against 5 teams.
Does this mean SOM is pretty much dead? I don’t understand how it’s possible to actually run into the same people over and over. It was never like this in classic or original Vanilla. It scares me that the population is so small that there really isn’t a point in gearing and pvping when the game won’t last until Naxx.
In Classic, I ran into premades almost every game BUT it was different premades that I saw MAYBE twice per day but usually, once per day and that was it. The population just might not be up to par for what this old format used to thrive in.
By the way, 3 games of that 50, alliance got ZERO honor! Not a single kill!!! And don’t forget, the games where we did manage to get some kills, those guys were on DR because it was the same people every game!!! The same mages that run into the AB graveyard to root us when we spawn? Yeah, those guys were worth 0 honor by the 3rd game and pretty much the only kills we got. You’re punished for playing against the same people over and over. Horde get honor for 5 capping and flag capping while we get literally 0 unless its the BG of the weekend.
Horde made me quit phase 2 of classic and they have officially beat me into submission again. You win!!!
No it means that you need to step up your game if you want to rank alongside the people pvping like they mean it.
All of SOM is basically one vanilla server’s worth of rankers. If there are only two instances of WSG on at any given time in your bracket your chances of playing against the same premade over and over again are 1 in 2.
I didn’t play classic but it was definitely like this in Vanilla. The road to rank 14 was thoroughly watered with the same tears of rage over premades and “twinks” and “the spirit of the game” and “no lifers ruining it for the rest of us” just like it is today.
I was going to say something about “it’s about the journey” but meh. Yeah you’re playing some niche version of a game that’s experiencing massive player drop off as the nostalgia factor wears off for the majority of the already small player base. Yes SOM absolutely has a shelf life of a few months and there will only be a few guilds left around for phase 6. If this scares you then you should quit, it’s really that simple.
As a person who hit 60 in the middle of the second week (not saying that was fast or anything), I had my epic mount as soon as a dinged as well as leveled mining and engineering to max along the way. I also dropped engineering and releveling it to goblin engineering. I have every PVP trinket possible + gold to flask every game if needed. My game is stepped up literally as much as possible to the min-max. The main issue with alliance currently is that the biggest rankers are all part of one guild (IDES) that will never “pug” with other rankers not in the guild. They would rather queue as 4 and get stomped rather than try and win with other people. It seems Horde have definitely min-maxxed harder than Alliance since I see almost every premade is full epic mounts when I can queue for AV and I’m still one of the 4 epic’s running to the Field of Strife. I can tell you, I have tried my best by even trying to make an Alliance discord that gear checks and verifies epic mounts but too little people with epic mounts to even be viable.
For your other points, I’m with you and understand. The shelf life feels a lot shorter than Naxx, maybe even by ZG, SOM will be done if this continues the way it is going.
Just face facts, Blizz messed up the PvP this season (maybe they’ll get it right next season). Take the year off from pvp and go do HC mode Road to Rag.
I mean pretty much everyone outside of jom has quit pvp for the moment to level on jom or quit the game entirely. I got the 1st r13 and I’m not playing until they add server transfers. I know many people in the same boat as me.
Barman horde PVP had serious fallout. Most of the rankers who were actually premading (not AV) have either quit the game or are rerolling Jom. This is as of the last 24 hours. it’s a mess.
One of my rank 13 friends deleted his character and rerolled, another R13 just quit the game, and a third R13 rerolled but didn’t delete.
