The only thing tradable in this game anymore is 1000 raider group looking to sell mythic plus 10 carry for gold! PST cheap!! I mean nothing we craft is tradable except low level useless gear or flasks and everyone is an alchemist now so.
Hard to say for me. My guild is pretty active (enough to run 1 raid groups into heroic and another into mythic Uldir) and there are normally between 20-60 people on. But I'm hearing that's increasingly rare. My brother in laws old guild sounds dead half the time and its been going for years.
Had a friend we will call Bill. Bill is the kind of guy who plays every wow expansion from start to finish. He's seemingly immune to burnout despite all his friends eventually quitting any given expac. He finds content where there isn't any; he transmog raids, he levels tons of alts, etc.
I had a chat with Bill last week. I asked him what he thought about the game. His answer was short and to the point:
"If it wasn't for my friends playing I would probably quit."
This is the guy who keeps playing even though all his friends do in fact quit. He's ready to call it quits and we aren't even a major patch in.
If I was Blizzard, I would be really worried. You lose players like Bill this early on, you won't have much of a subscriber base that plays no matter how few others do.
This is my exact same feeling. I don't quit because it's the only way i can share time with my brother being overseas and we like pushing keys together. When he inevitably quits retail to play Classic i guess i'll have to either quit WoW entirely or switch to classic and see how things go.
I've always wanted to push the content in every xpack, except for this one, for some reason it feels unnecessary and more of a chore than an actual game.
Are you not in WM? I see way more Horde out doing stuff when I have it on compared to when I do not. My guild is also very active after work hours and I haven't noticed anyone stop showing up to raid or stop playing altogether.
Guilds are still active. It reminds me of WoD; I was able to get my horde alt easily in a higher quality guild than usual due to people leaving the game. Usually leaving en masse is more of an end of expansion thing (end wod; pre-argus etc), but I think we are in a content drought, even with allied races etc. There are no paragons, wqs are pretty myeh, and I see most people running older content rather than the current content. New raid and incursions (another warfront) may help the economy but I am seeing more of people selling runs and overpriced boes that are only around ilvl 350 in chat. Selling mounts has been harder lately too; I think there is less gold and less people atm. Stormrage still seems alive in Stormwind when I hop on it and the others seem lower pop in terms of activity atm.
I havenāt logged in for like 2 weeks. Havenāt even hovered over the wow icon thinking about it. No desire at all, I am sick of every expac being a piece of !@#$ for the first half of its existence and then maybe getting it right for the last couple months itās even relevant. Stop reinventing the wheel every expac, end legion was great and you threw it all out.
So not to fuel my conspiracy, but here is my experience almost 3 weeks later, on another Sunday:
I am looking for TW BT runs. There are no groups, or interest about it in Trade. My community (LGBT) is dead, so nothing from there either. I open the group finder⦠no groups on there either.
Additionally, in Trade there was little desire from people to run content, be it raids, old raids, or BT. Only guild recruitment spam by the same 2 guilds, and people trying to hawk their wares. I ought to mention that I play on Area 52, a very populated Horde server.
What is going on? The WoW I remember was never like this. There were constant groups forming whether to run legacy raids, current raids, take out opposite faction leaders, or even invade Southshore.
Well that was my thought too, Tekdh. Maybe I am behind the curve in terms of content. Maybe most players have blown through the content and are taking a break.
But again, this would be unheard of in the past, especially before the first content patch of the expansion.
Not experiencing this, no.
In fact, Iām seeing quite the opposite. They seem to have changed how warmode shards and now Iām seeing a TON more players than I did a few weeks ago.
But regardless, a vast majority of my time is spent in groups and instances, which are obviously all cross realm and capped at 5 players so nothing much to report in there.
Keys still regularly posted and looking for tanks, even though subs are supposedly way down, and this week was a horrible week.
Just an anecdote though.
Im on the same server and have been seeing the SAME THING for a good month now. Its really is so sad. I have NEVER seen it like this 3 months into any expansion and i have been here since late 2004, and have never unsubbed, been constant for 13 years!
