Like…it’s 2019…they can track people…why are they still able to DDoS?
Maybe take an hour out of your day and Google why it’s not that simple.
15yo video games are at the top of the list.
Its possible to stay comoletely hidden. Esoecially since he is not a priority target. Also his FBI agent is probabaly on vacation.
Blizz put a target on their own back by some decisions they made and mistakes made
What’s the difference between DoS and DDoS. Then you can answer your question
1.- Maybe he doesn’t live in the US and not every police force cares or enforces internet laws.
2.-Maybe he’s actually covering his tracks.
This right here.
They brought in on themselves.
“we have to do layering to avoid dead servers and mass character transfers when people leave, and to handle the load at launch. Layering is a game breaking change to the classic ethos but there is no other choice”
In reality it was a decision by Blizzard made according to the bottom line. Better for Blizzard. Not good for the community in the short term.
And what do we have? Character transfers are needed, possible dead servers anyway, queues etc. We would have been better off not using layering and Blizzard opening more servers based on name registration / prior demand. But no, that isn’t good for Blizzard’s bottom line.
Also when you allow toxic narcissistic individuals with followings of 10s of thousands to run rampant in your game, to the detriment of the community, because it is free advertising, yeah, some people aren’t going to like it.
I don’t support the idiots doing the DDOS attacks. But Blizzard put themselves int his position when they didn’t listen to their community.
Layering = DDoS… You people will literally blame anything on layering won’t you? It just keeps getting more hilarious. Please, just stop already. My sides can’t handle this level of crazy for much longer.
They already said their reasoning for doing this is to sabotage streamers like Asmongold and Sodapoppin. And to get a hatemail reaction out of players in general since WoW Classic is the big thing.
It’s not because of something Blizzard did that they don’t like.
He was arrested.
Disk Operating System
Dynamic DOnutS
There is no evidence that the DDOSer was targeting Blizzard.
He DDOSed Wikipedia, then twitch, then the #1 game on twitch. He wanted publicity.
Are we talking about the same DDoS attacker that was tweeting which server he was about to target, posting screenshots of Asmongold, etc.?
Because if so, then yeah, we do have evidence that he was targeting Blizz.
He was targeting WOW because it was popular, not because “BLIZZ BROKE MUH GAME”
Also, he was arrested.
Yes, I know he was arrested.
You can’t say there wasn’t any evidence he was targeting Blizzard in one comment, then completely contradict yourself in your next comment. That’s not how this works.
I agree with all the things Blizzard doing being bad but that still does not justify something like this. For starters it really hurts the players more than it does Blizzard. Blizzard still gets there sub fee its just the players can’t play their game. Also if they didn’t get DDOS over this they could just as easily have found something else to get mad about. Its basically a form of terrorism obviously just not as severe as other forms. Its basically “Give me what I want or I will hurt you.”
I will be the 1st one to stand in line for those.
