Was also a casualty of the recent Ddos attack on the 24th of April 2025, will blizzard be restoring characters that died from their repeated server failures

They have the sole discretion.
No death should have been reversed, because it’s opened the door to these threads any time a disconnect happens, regardless of DDoS or not.
Don’t hold your breath.

Then they should release a statement telling us. Because they did revive everyone that died in both previous DDOS attacks, we should atleast be told what the plan is.

They’ve told you the plan.
Reread their two posts on the subject.
Their statements are vague, they imply action for those affected while disclaiming that they dont actually have to do anything. They only communicate after they have taken action and solved the problem for SOME of the people affected if they decide to do anything at all which is usually only if the ddos event got enough attention. stop running defense for their bad services and poor problem solving abilities, go back to reddit or something…

Also they didnt revive EVERYONE that died in both previous ddos attacks, just read the comments in previous posts from the time. They also skipped ddos attacks during off hours where less people died, march 30th just past midnight as an example.
I don’t use reddit, for starters, and I’m still of firm belief that dead is dead. Nice try though!
I thought it was a pretty good joke, but thats fair. Either way they did come out and decide to do rollbacks and I think with that being the case people are just mad that some people are getting it and other aren’t.
This goes beyond just rollbacks. It’s frustrating that there hasn’t been a proper system in place from the start to address deaths caused by server-side issues.
I’ve already lost two characters to this. At that point, the game stops feeling like it’s about skill and starts feeling like a crapshoot. What am I supposed to do—keep re-rolling and hope Blizzard’s servers hold up?
We’re paying customers. Server stability is part of what we’re paying for. Keep them stable so we can actually test our skills fairly.

still no statement, still no word from blizzard dont really what im paying for if the main reason people die is because of failures on their end. would really like to know if there has been any word, know i dont have streamer clout but as a paying customer for over 15 plus years i want to know if im getting restored or not and weather i should keep paying for there services

Server side issues are going to happen and i dont believe require rezzes. They are rare. In my 5 years of playing HC regularly its never been a serious issue. The issue here is DDOS attacks. This is griefing in its most egregious form and deserves a response. Its a new thing since the anniversary realms. You either always rez people for this injustice, or you dont. The issue here for me is i dont know if i should delete my char so i can re-use the name, or wait for the rez. Hoping tuesdays patch comes with a side of resurection.

give us a new HC Fresh Fresh with a new TOS " all death leads to death" meaning no appeal no expectations play at your own risk and make it 1 server on an automatic reset every 3 days with 3 day dungeon lockouts meaning less chances for DDoS to occur
I’m not sure why some people think the Terms of Service should be “dead is dead.”
Blizzard could easily, with a bit of investment, create a system that properly handles deaths caused by server-side issues. Not some “please beg for your character back” process, but an actual support system that responds to major technical problems and restores control to the players.
Yet for some reason, a handful of players argue that server-side deaths are part of the immersion—as if accepting uncontrolled losses somehow makes you a stronger or more dedicated player.
But let’s be honest: there’s nothing immersive about dying due to server lag or disconnects. That’s not part of the world or the lore.
It’s like seeing a death screen that says:
“Your character was struck by a car (translation: the server glitched).”
That’s not immersion. That’s just bad design

Hardcore WoW = Hardcore “WoW” (not “Compete against our failure to provide a stable game”). My 53 mage (MOCOSA - Doomhowl Alliance) died with 170 hours+ played time. That’s time away from RL to play a game where my death isn’t even my fault. Had I died to a disconnect due to my ISP, faulty PC, or playing poorly/bad decision…then I deserve the death with no rez. However, dying to a fault on behalf of the company providing the game, that my friends, deserve a response. Blizzard, back your game up! I’m curious how many people quit the game and stopped paying their sub today, when their toons weren’t rez’d…??? I know I thought about it.

Yeah i had a lot of hope for a Tuesday rez. But here we are. I guess its just a risk of the game mode now. We either accept it and keep playing, or go to a reg server/stop play all together
