DDOS attack

I noticed just as I logged in that there is a little icon next to my battle.net avitar stating that WoW is suffering from a DDOS attack. Has anyone has any issues with logging on or playing?

Personally, I was unable to play beta because of huge world/home ms, and I wondered if that was part of the problem.

I’m experiencing the same as you are Kneeshooter. For good measure I’ve tried the Battle.Net Beta App also which appears to be experiencing the same problem.

I do not ever understand why people try to DDoS an old game.

Who would even DDoS late 8.3, are people even left playing at this point xD

They DDoS the beta so that blizzard will be unable to continue development until they invite those who purchased Shadowlands. They have the right to protest - they live in a democratic country.

Well that’s childish. I hope they get a visit from the law instead.

It’s most likely legal in their country.

Sylvanas needs a good spanking

They’ve gone after DDoS attackers before and they’ve been charged. So not always.

It’s prolly some loser that’s upset Blizzard is releasing SL later than expected.

Depends on the country. In some, DDoS attack is considered a legal form of democratic protest

So then what’s to prevent them from DDOSing 24/7?
You can’t fix DDOS if all they’re doing is spamming data at the server

We’ll see, but regardless, it’s pretty ridiculous. It won’t have any affect either. It’s just a waste of everyone’s time.

It does seem an awfully coincidental timeframe. On the whole, I’d rather they do it now than at launch but I guess they’ll probably do that regardless.

Quite nothing. Get better firewall, get better servers. There a games that keep getting DDoSed all the time and are just getting a little bit laggy because of that.

And of random people’s computer resources, if it’s done with the help of computer viruses - but in this case it’s not quite legal.

They need to catch this person and smash the hell outta their hands with a hammer until it’s a bloody mess. That will make them think twice next time.

Not to mention go owww a lot.
