DDOS attack currently in Retail?

I play on the Illidan server and have been getting constant disconnects the last 30 minutes. Anyone else having issues?

I’m pretty sure Illidan is the server that Team Liquid uses.
That’s probably what draws the attacks.

Wow, it’s amazing that for three days in a row there has been a DDOS attack.

Back in the day, we’d call these “Illidown”.

Illidan was down a lot lol, because it was one of the biggest Horde PvP servers.

IIRC, Shortly before Trial of the Crusader patch in WotLK, was about 4 days worth of DDOS attacks (and can’t forget the additional 72hour game crash caused by a hot fix during wotlk as well lol). Including when Timeless Isle opened up during MoP, was almost a full week worth of DDOS attacks that happened.

Cata & WoD was a bit weird(ish), with basically one attack once a week for like just over a month.

back in 1999 if i told you simple ddoses could bring down a big company 26 years from now you wouldve laughed at me. here we are lol

its crazy that humans didnt find a solution to malicious ddosing yet. guess it’s a forever thing.

I just don’t think any business cared that much to spend money on trying to block it, if that’s even feasible.

DDoS attacks are more common now than back then. A lot more common.

But even then, they don’t usually last. A few days/one week at the most.
