DDH PVP Needs Changes

Basically, (And tested on beta) DDH either 1 shots the enemy, or ends up getting gutted.

You actively ignore your major cd in Star, and run away when you don’t have the melee combo up.

Star in general is a very long cast time. It can’t be interrupted with the pvp talent, but you can still get stunned, LOS, and more. Which with the changes to not lose souls but has a 5 sec cd makes using it pvp even worse. You can get micro cc’d during it, has a 5 sec cd, and now you can’t cast it at all since meta is down.

It has no MS effect and brings nothing unique that havoc cannot already do, and is a lot squishier as well.

This is all partly due to how the spec functions as hole. Though the most recent hotfix does allow you to get into meta quicker. I am curious if that will actually lead into star being used in pvp. But I doubt. It will just be more of the same, melee combo 1 shot.

Once that melee combo 1 shot gets nerfed, what would this spec have?

I think it needs a lot of love in pvp. Making the PVP talent for star to instead make it an instant cast I think would be a lot better. I think it really needs a MS effect. Having reap apply an MS effect with a pvp talent would be really cool, and offer this mid ranged spec something semi unique as a caster.

my fav is at the start of a pvp match everyone rushes to the opening battle…and DDH cant join in….need 35 or 50 souls first LOL….

then…when they kill you…start over.

All other classes big abilities are on a CD…so you can always have it ready at the start of a game….and if the match goes bad you can still have it on CD to try and affect the match.

I’ve been wondering how this will work. Right now, the only thing devourer has going for it is it’s burst in meta, and all you see are these kids crying about being one shotted during their meta window. At level 90 their will not be a one shot, because everyone will have their apex talents, as well as the remaining talents as they work their way up to max level. After playing devourer at around 2600 MMR, anybody with half a brain stops it every time unless you CC them first. Sub rogues are literally the rock to our scissors, I lose almost every game to them, unless they have no idea how to play their class, because they wait for meta to just CC you until it drops, then you’re just useless until the next meta window, if you live that long. I’d love more sustained damage outside of meta, because once we’re all level 90, there will be no more one shot, and everyone will be going right back to havoc, and devourer will be just another forgotten spec.

After testing things this past week, I can say pvp with DDH is in a better state than last time I tested. The talent, inevitable end really helps a ton with Stars since it reduces cast time now instead of damage. (Not sure when this was changed honestly, but I noticed it on beta last night)

I would argue survival is a big issue with DDH still though. I still want a MS effect, but things are better than they were before. At 90 currently, it is actually really fun to get the stars off. The cd still sucks when getting micro cc’d, but that is whatever.

I seem to just get 1 tapped by sub rogues. So perhaps they are overtuned.

I like the caster set up more than the scarred one.

I still think it should have a MS effect. It would open up some really fun comps if it had it and needs something other than blur.

Fully Conquest geared from Crate premades…then:

Got Stomped in 2s skirms

Got Stomped in Random BGs

Got top kills, damage, and heals in Training Grounds…so…that’s pretty sweet.

Prepatch is nothing to go off of. Beta is like 2-3 builds beyond prepatch. Did you test on beta on live?
