DC'D While Reporting Bots

Has this been happening to other people? Almost every time I try to report a bot it disconnects me from the server. There are already massive amounts of bots on the servers so getting dc’d when you try to report them is a bit more than frustrating.

No, but I get random disconnects at least twice a day while playing.

There are two steps to reporting. First you right-click the character (or their name in chat) and select language/spam/name/etc, then it shows a pop-up text box where you can add details.

At what point, exactly, do you get DCed?

After I type “botting” in the description, then when i hit send i get DC’d.

They’re on to you.

They probably know you’re reporting multi-boxers and not real botters, so they are trying to stop you.

…I know the difference between a multiboxer and a botter, and I only report when I’m positive it’s a bit.

Report them a little differently, also try to avoid being noticed, don’t be obvious about that you’re reporting them and makes sure you report all their accounts so that they all get the ban hammer.

I have it easy because they can’t see me, but when on alts I just ride along or whatever and make it appear like I’m just in transit.

The DC is a bug with the UI, it usually happens if you get out of range of the bot or if the suspected botter logs off at that time. Sometime if you are using a chat addon it screws things up. If you are reporting someone via the chat pane and it scrolls too far then it happens too.

It’s nothing nefarious.

All of this. I’ve been auto-DC’d reporting people often, but it usually has a time component to it. Most typically I would find a Hunter with a nonsense name and a pet boar named Boar, and I’d proceed to kill the pet over and over while I write up my report. The bot would mindlessly ignore me and keep spam rezzing the pet, which is all stuff I would put in the report, before finally killing them and sending. These almost always DC’d me.

Contrast that with someone botting that has no pet where I just kill them and report and finish up pretty quickly, I never get DC’d.

This happens to many as a way to seemingly protect bots from being banned.

If you report them to fast, the system believes YOU are the spammer, and kicks you.

Mostly if I have time, I just kill thier pet and hurt the hp. So, npc kills them repeat about 20 times.
They go to town repair and return to same spot. Report sent. No human goes through that punishment and returns for more.

Now if I kill thier pet or hurt them and they run or takes forever to rez and runs that’s not a bot.

They rez then proceed to do same thing and repeat. High chance bot.
