Little curious. How often do you actually need the water walking? The Maw and Korthia have no water and you can fly everywhere else now. Even before flying there was hardly any circumstance in SL for it.
To each their own, but I wouldn’t think it’s as handy as the daze immunity.
Earning it was sort of no real effort. It only took three dailies a day for a few weeks to reach exalted 9 years ago. I don’t know, clinging to it a little strongly.
Everyone hates getting dazed, but there is a solution now.
they had to give you guys something for being the slowest class in game
the daze mechanic is going
it’s going right on your character LMAO GOTTEM
There’s also strafing
That’s my preferred method of avoiding daze
Not really as you have to switch to tank spec
You guys have tank specs?
WoW has to be the only game where people allow the grandfather-clausing of mechanics most people overwhelmingly dislike to hate.

i hate how much trash mobs are packed everywhere tbh. all you get is some trash grey loot and i dont want to have to kill them if not for a WQ/quest lol. just let us fly in korthia

I saw someone post once before about this that mobs should only daze you if theyre like 5 levels (or more) above you. it makes zero sense for a mob the same level as you to daze you. its definitely an annoying mechanic and has made me miss out on a lot of rares or chests.

Comfortable Rider’s Barding, you can find it in the AH.
You could always try running around the pack rather then through them. Or strafe if you’re absolutely determined to run through things.
No one ever reads the OP and it’s infuriating.
You’re totally right. The daze mechanic is dumb and needs to go.
If you ride through mobs and they hit you to the point that you die, then that’s on you. But daze is trash.
Mount equipment (in this iteration) is trash.
We’ve earned the water striders. Give them back their unique feature.

Daze is fine, 20 second Silence is the one that has to be removed
Where do you even find water to use waterwalking over anti-daze

Water walking is cool sometimes but anti-daze is useful anywhere there are hostile mobs (which is almost everywhere in Azeroth). I did the anti-daze for all my characters aside from my tanks, one of those has water walking but my BDK didn’t have anything cool so he uses the parachute mount.
I like the saddle system though I never farmed a WW mount and respect those who feel slighted. They should have just kept that 1 mount WW like the golem. The ideal system for me would be one where each mount would have their own abilities, so a cat mount might make you difficult to see in forested areas, an elephant mount would be undazeable, a pony mount would be a little faster on roads, flying mounts can glide short distances, etc.

are you talking about the wild worldcracker rare mechanic? you have to run back to your soul during the silence, however its hard to see when theres like 50 people and abilities flashing everywhere
Nose For Trouble says hi! For those that don’t play a vulpera:
When you first take damage from an enemy, reduce that damage by 5% of your maximum health.
Dazed has a base 20% chance of happening if you take a hit while facing away from a mob that is in melee range. However, dazed can only occur if you take damage. If 100% of the damage is absorbed, you cannot be dazed.
Believe it or not, NFT is an amazing racial in that regard as the vast majority of mobs can’t do enough damage to hit you for any damage on that first hit. By the time the mob is able to hit you again, you’ll typically be out of their melee range if you’re mounted.
Just for reference, at the time of this post I’m at about item level 206 in my frost gear. I have 37,100 HP. The first damage I take (melee, ranged, magic) needs to do more than 1,855 HP to me to even have a shot of dazing me. And that’s not simply a “when entering combat” effect. That’s literally the first time EACH mob successfully hits me and does what would have been damage (meaning a dodge/block/absorb prolongs the effect)
TLDR: Vulpera are surprisingly resistant towards getting dazed, and their racial actually makes them amazing tanks.
Go play a vulpera
It might be because you are wanting a fix and are mentioning zones like Korthia, or the Maw overall, but then are upset about taking away Water Walking from a strider. There is no water here, there is hardly any water at all in all of SL. Putting on the mount equipment would be the easiest and simplest solution as it is something that already exists and fulfills its purpose.
You know, Blizzard could EASILY just give Strider the same classification as the Sky Golem. Give Strider Water Walking but then it can’t benefit from mount equipment. Im sure people would be upset about that as well even though it logically makes sense with how the Sky Golem doesnt benefit.
Daze has to wait its turn. First on the list of things to be nixed is faction-tagging.
that is exactly the mechanic I am talking about, I know about the soul but like you stated when an entire zone is on one boss good luck finding your soul until the fight is over
