Day/Night Cycle

I’d like to make an argument for a faster Day/Night Cycle so modern players, many who are former players with less time now, can see different times of day during the few hours they’re able to get on.

Personally, i play at around 2am. I’ll never get to see Westfall at sunset, or in the day time. Players who can only play a bit in the evening, they’re also stuck with the same in-game time every single time they log in.

In the modern age, i think this is more common than back in 2004.

In the past, the argument for the 24 hr day in WoW was always “Immersion” but i’d say it’s actually LESS immersive, if you play at the same time each day and low and behold, it’s the same time of day in the game. You’re not escaping the real world, time-wise. You’re stuck with your real world burdens. Got kids now? Too bad. Work two jobs? Too bad. It’s a constant reminder to me that I’m stuck playing after midnight, when I log in and the zones are all… midnight. I don’t get to feel the nostalgia of Elwynn and Westfall really, because I can’t log in in the mornings like the old days.

They created a new lighting system, but a lot of players will only see the same time of day every time.

I get the idea behind the 24hour in-game clock. But, there’s a reason most games don’t do that. It’s so you can log in for a few hours and feel like you experienced more of an adventure that spans a day or so. The real time thing feels old school and very limiting.

Anyway, I wish Blizz would consider doing an 8 hour in-game clock or something. They made such a priority of giving Overwatch different weather and lighting systems for variety, how about do the same for WoW?
