Day two Mac Issues thread

Seems that we’ve found solutions to a lot of our fixes, be that setting presets to 1 on initial log in, and making sure after that secondary lighting is set to lowest while nearly everything else can be maxed out.

The shader issues and green hue are things I’ve yet to completely solve, but have had some luck with optional gpu features being unselected with this, but by no means a full fix.

If anyone else has any further changes or issues and potential fixes, would love to hear about it.

Hoping we get fixes from blizzard, or at least a shout out that they’re well aware.

Pretty disappointing state for beta, they clearly didn’t even fire this up on a mac before launch

blows my mind with how well it runs retail on Mac.

Green Hue you can fix by changing the Graphics API to Metal and see if that helps.

This doesn’t work for me. Game still crashes moving any slider and I’m on a M5 Max 64 GB top of the line. There’s nothing higher than my MBPro other than more RAM

not much of a help. the hue seems to exist no matter what, sometimes when some settings are changed it’ll go away shortly, but return rapidly.

Strange that was the only thing that helped my green hue. Still have missing textures on ground clutter though.

With the community settings, I can finally play on my M5 Max but the weird thing is that it feels stuttery and not at all smooth despite Retail and Classic Era having no such problems. Oddly, the in-game framerate doesn’t reflect this. It shows a stable ~120fps. It’s almost like shader compilation issues you see in other games. Clearly there are still baseline rendering and performance issues on macOS.

I have the “green” problem. Didn’t have it earlier. Went to lunch and came back and have the green hue on everything

green for me is caused by increasing the shadows from “low” to “fair”.

Still have green tint just not everything

Has there been any update from Blizzard themselves about Mac fixes?

yes this worked thank you, has anyone noticed that all the buses and grass like environmental detail on the ground are like 100% black???

A blue post? For Mac support? We’ll see something 3 days before beta ends. Lucky for us this is a paid beta.

I log in fine with maximum settings with secondary lighting set to fair.

I get too much green in elwynn forest, the smithy is green for the most part on the outside and I have these odd echoes of characters and mobs - basically like almost clear copies of them with black outlines if I enable secondary lighting while in game - cannot leave it on as it will crash on any follow on attempt.

One odd bit, when it seizes in full screen I sometimes can move the cursor around and at times it acts as if it is not over the game window but instead over other windows I had open at the time on my desktop

Anyone else has poor performance ?

In capital city its barely playable, game heavily stutters

The latest build seems to have removed the weird shadow diamond/square that followed the player along. Still unable to move shadows above low though.

Even with shadows at low I get green in the background. Also these weird light flashes in the background

Elwynn is odd - I am not getting green in Kharanos.

I do notice that mobs appear without texture as first - all black and then their textures appear - most ground clutter is just black here in Kharanos

The only thing that works for me is everything set to low and the 3 out of 4 boxes at the bottom unchecked. Windowed mode maximized as well. If I deviate from that my Mac freezes and reboots.

Mac mini m4 & ultra wide monitor. Retail and classic run perfectly. Anyone have any ideas? I’ve tried quite a few combinations
