Dawnbreaker is the worst dungeon in modern wow history

I think the first and last bosses are fine. Even flying after the golden orbs is fine, when they show up / spawn correctly.

Most issues are going to be pulling the LTs without the group wiping due to extra trash or the boss patting into the group.

Right now, there are also no consequences for having a tank or even a dps get stuck in combat with the trash on the ground while the rest of the group flies back to the Dawnbreaker to engage the last boss.

In a few groups I’ve been in, even saying something in chat, one of the dps always proceeded to pull the last boss minus one player (be it the tank or another dps), then continue the fight on the ground, minus 1 party member.

People wanted normal and heroic to be incredibly easy for years.
Sooo now if theres even just a slight mechanic that requires a tiny bit of effort, people will wipe over and over or leave the dungeon. Just gotta learn, brute forcing everything should not work every single time for every mechanic even in lower dungeons.

I love it and think it and the brewery are some of my favorites. I’m looking forward to M+ rotation too.

Side note: I recently discovered in Dawnbreaker, I was tanking the third captain (to remove buff from boss) and a dps flew and engaged the boss. So the other 4 of us mid fight with the captain and then all saw a loading screen…. We were teleported to the boss the lone player had engaged. We also still killed the captain, but since boss was still engaged the Buff remained on the boss despite captain being dead .

Adding my voice to the chorus. Hate this place. Open dungeon concept is ALWAYS bad. Trying to double-dip on level design by turning a zone into an instance dungeon is BAD. Stop it blizzard. I refuse to heal this place.

Straight lines can get old. Remember King’s Rest? That place had some very challenging mobs (requiring to use weird fun player interactions like taunt + blade dance to give tank a chance to clear debuff. Players found ways to climb walls because it was so straight with no other options.

Clearly a bad tank who doesn’t know the mechanics of the dungeon lol. This dungeon is HANDS DOWN the coolest dungeon they have released, ever. Learn the game, don’t hate

the amount of “git gud” in this thread shows which players use LFD and which do not.

why are you adding an extra o to words that don’t need it? anyway, we aren’t having issues with the flight, we’re having issues with 5 people who want to go 5 different directions and not having a set place to regroup, leading to lots of useless circle flying and everyone being split up. it’s a communication/clarity of dungeon issue, not a “how do press space bar?” issue.

they won’t, which is very frustrating.

I actually think it’s a pretty cool dungeon. It’s also very easy to understand. The only skill check is group communication and coordination. Which is hard to do when you’re accustomed to just silently running down a hallway killing anything non-friendly in the way.

I’m sure eventually the community will decide on the set path where you don’t need to ask the tank where you are going you all just know where to land. Until then, just talk it out like a human or use the pinning system if you’re a tank.

I died there too flying too high

I have been in many many groups that die on the first and last boss due too not flying. Its actually happening alot, every time i have done the fights people have died to the very simple mechanic.

It’s not just in “modern” wow - but the entire game as a whole.

Same. I unfortunately queued into this dungeon for the first time tonight not even knowing it was a thing. On the final boss, the game tells you to mount up and chase after the boss, basically, but where to fly to when it’s attempting to escape is not intuitive at all. The game basically lies to you and makes you believe you’re meant to fly after it, but if you do, which I did, you die.

Not a great first time experience at all. But fairly simple once you know that for future times. Maybe it was designed for people to die a bunch the first time doing it. Idk.

These responses are probably some of the most reductive and unhelpful ones in this thread. Sure, the mechanics of the dungeon by themselves aren’t hard, however that’s not where most people have the issues.

  1. Bugs - My wife did this for the first time today and she fell through the floor on one of the little ships and died. There are also many people reporting bugs like this throughout the dungeon, including stuff like not being able to mount or having issues with debuff.

  2. The flying itself - This is something that I understand your usual response will be “har har git gud” but it’s a really crappy issue when people have issues being able to use the flying mode itself. I know of people who get motion sickness just from using dragonriding / skyriding and so the answer shouldn’t be “mandate a dungeon to use this mode of travel”. Personally I don’t have an issue with skyriding in combat, but I fully understand those that do and I don’t think they should be penalised because they either have some form of disability, sickness or other reason that skyriding is poor for them. I want this game to be accessible to all people and forcing people to skyride in a dungeon is just really crappy (It also sucked in the raid, I know multiple people who could only do 1 phase of tswift).

  3. The city - Oh god is this the most poorly designed part of the dungeon! Trying to find a safe place to land with skyriding was always challenging in Nokud, but now we have an entire city filled with mobs that we need to try and coordinate killing the Lieutenants? In coordinated groups i’m sure it’s going to be fine, but this is going to kill PuGs. It’s already bad enough in my experience in heroic, I can’t imagine how bad it’s going to be for PuG mythic+.

I don’t necessarily mind if they put the ability to fly in there, but they should also have maybe a light bubble that those with accessibility issues can stand in, or a flightpath to get you down to the city and follow him, and maybe even a cannon to thin the mobs in the city so that you can land and coordinate safely at the Lieutenants.

As it stands I think this is the worst dungeon in the expansion, and not from a theme perspective but from a fun and accessibility standpoint and I dread whenever I see the loading screen.

This has nothing to do with a ‘mechanic’ , the layout is terrible and 100% unintuitive, if the group has not done this before no one has a clue where to go.

Knowing a route that could literally be anywhere has exactly nothing to do with “getting good” or a “skill issue”

This is some cope, 'get good ’ gives you psychic powers to know the route ?

None of this has anything to do with skill, players like you hand waving away a bad design is pathetic.

The flying too city bit realistically your supposed too lad at the light circles, thats realistically the only problem kther then that the rest is simply just doo it fail and learn.

Idk m8 i litterally did this place on beta and heroic it really isnt baf man, it litterally is a matter of learn the dungeon. Fail in some ways and learn.

I will leave this dungeon every single time I get it and just play an alt for the duration of the debuff. I don’t even feel bad about the group needing to find a new healer, the blame falls on Blizz. Skyriding does not belong in dungeons or raids.

It’s a pretty poor response to put “bugs” and “Accessibility” down to “oh just learn the dungeon bro”, this just shows you didn’t read a single word I said and just responded arrogantly.

This Dungeon is unplayable in follower mode.
At Rash’ anan the followers just hold the bombs and explode and kill themselves, then there is some kind of invisible gamma ray death fart that kills my healer. I wiped about 5 times knowing what the mechanics should be , but could not do anything to help the brainless followers.
If i need this dungeon to unlock earthen race, I will NEVER roll one , because I have no intention of ever going back to this utter and complete , total crap pile dungeon ever again.
