Dawnbreaker Accessibility Concerns

Since Dawnbreaker is coming back I figured I’d bring this up again. There’s a small section of the player base that gets VERY motion sick from The Dawnbreaker (It would make me ill for a day if I actually played through the whole dungeon even with field of vision adjusted). Is there any way the devs can implement some changes a la the Grimrail Depot potion to make this dungeon playable for these players?

Just get rid of this dungeon altogether.

And Priory.

dungeons that force skyriding have so many accessibility concerns that i feel sick just thinkin about them and i only suffer from one of them

And then never make another skyriding speed bump dungeon again.

You can use the normal flying, it’s significantly faster in Dawnbreaker.

Honestly better to use it over Skyriding, dont have to spin in circles waiting for the tank to land.

I came here to make a post about this, too, since the motion sick issues were never addressed in S1. I’m guessing the multitude of bugs on the ships haven’t been fixed either, so how is that fun for anyone? This dungeon was a major painpoint in S1 for me and I had no desire to push rating. I love the dungeons in S2, and looking forward to the rest of the dungeons in S3 for the most part, especially the SL ones, but this will be a huge hurdle for me if they continue to add rewards for 3k that I’d like to work towards.

In S1, I made multiple posts on these forums about the motion sickness issues in this dungeon and even sent a message to the accessibility team. They even REPLIED to my email (which they have never done previously) and asked me to clarify some of the issues I was having, but still nothing was done. So I don’t have a lot of optimism that it will be fixed. It’s possible they just don’t know how to do it, which in itself is a design issue of the dungeon in general. It’s a huge disappointment to see this coming back in S3 as I would love to push mythic plus without feeling like I’m going to throw up and/or being a detriment to my team.

The masts on the ship also created visibility issues, and coordinated skyriding (or even just regular riding) has no place in a dungeon.

As an aside, I frequently recommend players who experience motion sickness in game try sea bands as they have slightly taken the edge off for me and make the dungeon mildly tolerable when I’m forced into it in the leveling rotation, but it’s still not great at all. I know it doesn’t work for everyone, but worth a shot. When you are in there in Mythic Plus, especially a higher key, you will need to be at your best, and I’m not sure if even the sea bands will cut it for me then.

Yeah, unfortunately sea bands have never worked for me. So the only solution for me would be to take a dramamine whenever I want to run that dungeon (which I will not do) or just have my friends carry me through the dungeon and I don’t participate in the ship portions (which would be very sad). I think you’re right in that the fixes they would have to implement would likely be too complicated, but I figured no harm in bringing it up again in the off chance they can actually fix it. I wish that they wouldn’t have brought it back considering the likelihood that they can’t fix the issues in the dungeon.
