And everyone hated him while he was working in WoW too lol.

I get it, you guys are ghostcrawler haters and nothing anyone can say will ever change your mind no matter how factual and accurate

Dave Kosak seemed like a cool guy. I talked to him a couple times at BlizzCon. Best wishes to him in his new ventures.

Never heard of him.

WoW’s lore is a burning dumpster filled with contrivance, plot holes, and a retcons. Good riddance.

Now THIS is the newsworthy item here.

Thought that at first too, but then I read past the headline.

Metzen will be involved solely in tabletop game production, not video games.

No way players will leave WoW in droves to play DnD.

That might be where they begin again but we all know they wont be able to resist an RTS eventually an MMO.

Their original passions weren’t in video games before Blizzard. It’d take a lot to try and get a video game made, and Metzen probably doesn’t want to deal with the bureaucracy again.

Just because you keep yourself ignorant of the most influential people in the company doesn’t mean it’s not an important event.

It’s important to note when he moved from WoW. He left a long time before the current state. It seems he moved away from it after Wrath, but I could be wrong.

Activision was the cancer and he’s free of that however I dont think they will do a faction war mmo again they know how that turns out. If we are lucky they might snag the stargate rights and run with that or something.

Nope, he’s working at Deviation Games.

Unlikely. Greg is actually really happy at Riot, something he stated recently when he talked about returning to WoW as a player instead of a developer.

Oh well, thanks for the update, and I’m sure there is little hope of Metzen joining Mike either with his new venture, however he did just mention he’ll continue doing Thrall’s voice as long as Blizz let’s him.

There is a vast difference between keeping yourself ignorant and him not being important enough for people to have heard of him. The fact that some obsessed nerds know who he is is meaningless. I wouldn’t dare refer to myself as casual and I’ve literally never heard his name even once.

WoW’s lore has been a dumpster fire since before Wrath, and certainly was during Wrath.

Horde and Alliance in Wrath: Instead of working together to carpet bomb the existential threat to the planet, let’s have an airship battle over whose infantry can fight the ultimate evil in melee combat!

I mean, anything can happen. I can only go by what Greg has said on Twitter.

Could he get an offer from Mike and the folks at Dreamhaven and go there? It’s possible. Same with Metzen, he could also get an offer to work at Dreamhaven on the side while working with his new company.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
