Datamined Hero Talent Trees

My thoughts:

Half Druid Hunter - Not bad, but it’s kinda weird that MM Hunters will be forced to choose between “half Druid” or “half Necromancer”, with no option to just be a person with a gun, which is the traditional MM fantasy.

Kael’thas Mage - The “Merely a Setback” talent made me laugh

Shadower Priest - “Dark Energy” is a nice physics reference

Demoniac Warlock - I like it that this spec gives me a Demon in my soul that puts more Demons in other people’s souls, it’s Demons all the way down lol

Yeah, bliz seems to think every Marksman is an elven archer.

Sort of. Dark energy has kind of been debunked.

Given that it’s a shield related talent though I am disappointed it’s not adding a knockback effect. But still, Sunfury is easily one of the coolest sounding hero specs so far.

I was underwhelmed when I read the Voidweaver talents. However, after hearing Archon is going to be focusing around Halo, I’m 100% team Voidweaver.

Voidweaver is what I was hoping for on my main.
VT while moving? I’m sold.

True, I do end up wasting a lot of VT.

I don’t waste mine bc I will sit there and take a frontal to get it off lmao.

Was hoping Packleader would be SV BM with a melee polearm… i guess I’ll just get more DPS numbers, more healing (which is actually good for BM honestly), and more dark hounds. But it’s kinda niche and was hoping for melee BM and some spec synergy.

Sentinel looks cool for the classical Night Elven Hunter archetype.

It does, but its not so cool for other archetypes. Any marksmen hunter, whether you are a dwarven riflemen, human crossbow soldier, goblin engineer with a lazer gun, etc… they all have to choose between one of two elf themes.

The same applies for any other Hero Specialization that uses a previous Warcraft theme as a base: Mountain Thane, Dark Ranger, Far Seer, Druid of the Claw, Keeper of the Grove, Shado-Pan, and Sunfury.

Yep, not a fan of them having very specific themes that don’t match the broad class design.

Marks hunter just sticks out to me as one where both options are very specific themes that won’t appeal to many people.

I’m hoping sentinel wont have strong visual effects and I’ll be able to pick it and just disregard the theme.

I think the problem is not so much that Sentinel exists, but that Hunters have two of those.

Sentinel and Dark Ranger existing together means MM Hunters have no choice other than abandon their traditional fantasy and take a new one.

You can’t just be a Marksman now. You gotta choose between being a half Druid Marksman or a half Necromancer Marksman.

There’s an Arcane owl, but that’s the most of it from reading the talent descriptions.

Fair point, no other specialization is forced into one of two pigeon holes.
