Are we going to know which realms are in which data centers before Classic launches?
Like which realms are which regions?

Most likely not.

I think he means the Datacenters areound the US.
There are LA/Phoenix/Chicago/NY which currently host WoW servers. Think those are still the same.

Ohh ok. That makes sense. Haven’t had breakfast yet so the brain is still on dial up.
Its funny, back in Vanilla, I had no clue where the servers were. UO was straight forward, Atlantic, Pacific, Oceana, etc... WoW had lore reference names, so I just chose Silvermoon because it sounded neat. I lucked out, most of my guild was on the west coast, I’m from the east. It worked out because my schedule in the Army was crazy when not deployed, so later raid times worked for me.
All my current gaming friends are west coast, so I’ll probably just go where they go.

East coast data center on a west coast timezone server. I like the late night gaming.
Trading sleep for gaming is on me. Trading family time for gaming is not going to happen.

I feel ya there. I’m retired from the Army now, and still can’t just play games all day. I have kids. They are normally in bed by 8, so 8-midnight is my normal gaming time...
Was looking this up the other day and current server list is difficult to find.10/30/2018 07:58 AMPosted by MenardLA/Phoenix/Chicago/NY
I live near Chi, Ping to a "Central" live server was 16 ms local and 18 ms world. While "East Coast" Realm was 15ms local / 15ms world.
"West Coast" Realm was 70 ms.
I'm guessing I'll just have to log in until I find the one I want.

They may have updated it since I last looked. I believe they have.

Seems to be Chicago and LA only.
Would be nice to know. Chicago is only an hour and a half drive from me so obviously I'll want to be on a Chicago based server to minimize latency.

this is incorrect, they are only in Chicago and southern California in the US, these days

Aaaaaah!!! That would explain the same latency I have for servers that used to be in Chicago and NY! Ok... well this information actually makes things easier. Thanks!
As long as they have one on the West Coast i will be happy
