Data mining is ruining the point of this season not even sure how they are geeting the data?? i thought we did not have ptrs for this to keep the sense of discovery alive? wowhead is the biggest problem with this. and you promote them every chance

PTRs are just access points to data that is already in the client for everyone, but not unlocked yet.

The data is there regardless of a PTR.
So if you can read client data, you can ‘see the future’ as it were. Hence: Datamining.

Also: WoWhead does put spoiler warnings on their content, but most forum posters don’t…so it’s kinda like being the person who hadn’t watched GoT Sunday night trying to avoid hearing anything of it on Monday morning at the office.

Might just need to hop off forums for a week.

They have a PTR up for internal testing. Players cannot log into the PTR to play, but the patch is still there.

the only problem with datamining is everyone takes it at face value and starts theorycrafting based on these unfinished and often wrong pieces of information and before anyone even has a chance to see things in action they’ve made 10,000 forum posts complaining about how it’s too strong or too weak or too inaccessible - everybody gotta minmax the fun out of everything
