Data Anomalies in Mechagon

I read that you need to kill elite data anomalies to get loot from these things. I’ve been here for a while now and every one that’s popped up has been non-elite. Is there a trick to making them elite? Or are elite ones just random and rare?

It is a slightly convoluted process.

Everybody starts out with the daily on the appropriate day to find a Corrupted Data Disc and turn it in to the robot. This spawns a non-elite anomaly.

Once they have done that initial quest, if they then go and do other stuff on the island they might find other items that can be turned in to the robot. For example, if they do the recycling daily inside Junkwatt, the reward can contain a rust covered disc. Some rares can drop a scorched data disc, etc. These harder-to-find subsequent items are what spawns elite anomalies when they are turned in.

So it isn’t exactly random or rare, but it requires people to go do other stuff after the initial quest, which means you won’t see it nearly as often. Especially if you don’t play at peak times. It is much more likely a few will turn up if a lot of people are turning things in.

From my experience and talking to others camping the anomaly the drop rate for holographic blueprint is really low or bugged. I dont think an elite should spawn that you can’t loot at all, which happens even if it is your first elite anomaly of the day.

Can confirm as it’s the only one I still need. Farmed anomalies whenever they spawned and have yet to see it drop.

I finally got it. I was killing 2 data anomalies every day until it dropped. Finally Mecha-Done. Good luck.
