For my level 59 toon with the xp buff, I’m only getting 1100 xp
For my level 50 toons with the xp buff, I’m only getting 935 xp.
Why does these once a month quests get nerf so hard…

I just did a WQ pet battle in Revendreth on my 59 and got 10010 xp. Bliz really needs to up the xp rewards for the darkmoon faire.
Are those the Dark Moon profession quests? (Cooking, Fishing, Enchanting, etc.) Or are you talking about the carnival ones? Or both?
I only do the profession ones, and have not gone there yet.
Professions, dungeon token turn ins, and the pet battle quest. I have not checked on my last lower level toon to see what they would give.
Something has definitely changed with Darkmoon Faire Quest XP. The quests used to be a great way to give alts a boost. Today my level 53 is only getting 990 xp (that’s WITH the DMF buff) from Pet Battle, Profession, and Artifact turn-in quests. Other than the +5 skill points, pre-SL toons (based on later comments) or xp for pets, not really worth the effort. STOP messing with the DMF, Blizz!!!
Edit: Added Bold and comment on lower level toons.
Wow big sad for me… lol
I have passively leveled alts only through DMF and pet battles for a couple of expansions now. I actually leveled my Pally all the way through Legion and BfA to the BfA level cap with just WoD pet battles and DMF. (17 levels!) Which… made gearing kind of interesting once I got there. It was far more interesting leveling that way, as opposed to actually playing through BfA.
So if Blizzard has made that option harder due to a nerf to DMF… Big sad. Though on the flip side I only run double gather now, so having professions at max is a big meh. In BfA I actually stopped gathering once I hit the level cap, because it didn’t seem worth the time.
Ok - you are correct. It looks like a substantial nerf to DMF experience for characters level 50 and above. I did some DMF quests on two characters. A level 24 Paladin, that bumped to level 25 turning in DMF quests. Then I took my level 50 DK to DMF. She did 5 DMF quests and then did the first two SL quests.

Doing the DMF quests on a char level 50 or above isn’t really worth it. Unless you are looking for the +5 prof bump on a crafting profession. Even then it only makes sense if all prior expansions are leveled to max, because if not the +5 will go to leveling an older expansion. (Evidently I am off here. See @Lilyraider’s comment below. I’ll check later with a different char.)
Mega sad
Edit - Took a level 50 to Stormwind and did the Cooking and Fishing daily quests. Both gave only 850 rep to my Shammy. Updated the table.
I’ve been leveling a no-kill alt with these quest. Now it’s not worth it.
Actually the +5 skill goes to most recent expansion trained that still needs skill points and then down to older expac’s.
Thanks - I am not up to speed on the subtle ways this works, obviously. On my DK I had not learned SL Mining or Herbalism. So I think the upgrades went to leveling Northrend skills. Can’t remember.
Yup. I have been leveling bank alts for years with DMF and Capital City Fishing/Cooking quests. More immersive cough than doing current content… Now that is kinda rekt.
Just seems like a cheap shot. Blizzard probably thinks they fixed a bug and they are doing everyone a favor! lol
LOL. I never go to the DMF and never have except only for the merry-go-round buff.
yep, it is kinda rekt that you think DMF is more engaging than questing. lulz.
