I am putting this request here because if it isn’t a bug, its a deliberate and unfair change that I was unaware of before it occurred.
During DMF if you fish you will get crates which drop consumables - various flasks that provide boosts of various types. In the past these have had no blocks on them so far as transferring them from the toon that collects them but now I find that they have all been made BoP. I have quantities of these in various storage banks that were there to give out to my alts for both levelling and general game use. Now the only characters that can use them are those that have access to those guild banks. So they are in effect, useless vendor trash.
If it isn’t deliberate, is there some way to reset them and take this BoP/soulbound effect off them so they can again be of use across all characters.
if you are talking about all those low level elixirs from the fishing crates, I wasn’t able to mail them to alts when I tried a long time ago so I’ve just been selling them as junk.
The darkmoon firewater however, is able to be mailed and sold on the auction house and it is still one of the most useful consumables in the game unless they just changed it this week because I definitely fished up like 3 stacks of firewater and mailed them to my druid last month. I’m fairly certain the firewater lets you mine azerite faster in islands too.
Yes, the Firewater is still open, thank the game lords. But the rest, which were very handy as they had no level restrictions and so could be used on alts levelling etc, are a loss.
no there were always restrictions on those for me thats why I said I’ve always sold them as junk. I could never use them on high level characters, and I couldn’t mail them to low level characters before either because they were a special event item or something I can’t remember the exact messages the game gave me when I tried to do it but those low level elixirs I assumed were just outdated relics they left in the game for people to use if they went to the faire with a low level character and fished it up and used the elixirs all with the same low level guy… what you are describing sounds exactly the way it has always been for me its not new.
Well you remember differently to me. Things like the Darkmoon Draught of Flexibility, Darkmoon Tincture of Defense, etc were always able to be sold on the AH or mailed to other characters. They often didn’t sell for much but they did better than just vendoring them. But I kept bunches of them in my bank guild, as I say, to give to other alts for their use.
And I’m not being delusional here, I clearly remember selling them - and not that long ago.
Edit: if you look at this forum post you will see that a change was apparently made in January giving them a duration, but the comments indicate that at that time they could still be traded. Obviously since then that has also been changed.
I’d personally appreciate it if this stupid change could be undone and the items be returned to their original state - making them something worthwhile to gather while fishing, a good reason to go to the DMF and a handry freebie for players. Why taking somethings thats fun and handy away from the game?
Yep and why the beaches and dock of Darkmoon Isle were lined with Gold Farmers and Fishing bots! Which one of the reasons Blizz may have changed things.
Not on my server. Hardly saw anyone chasing the wreckage pools, and about the only people fishing were those doing the quest or after the fishies for the mount.
