Is this any good? It sounds really fun but I don’t ever see anyone wearing it. I don’t do any high end content so it won’t really matter that much just wondering if it’s worth the craft at all
I like it for tanking. I thought it’d be good for M+, but honestly it doesn’t proc enough reliably for it to be competitive for me.
In M+ i can either use that and maybe get two eyebeams in a row. Or i can just use collective anguish and get a guaranteed extra fel devestation, which is also uncapped and doesn’t square-root scale, and heals me. Not to mention taking advantage of the cooldown reset from meta with it.
In raid i can use that or something that is going to work reliably like BW
For tanking i hate playing around the fiery brand legendary. I prefer to use darkglare there because it’s fun and useful to have reset cooldowns on a huge mitigation/damage ability.
Wat? Do you not know what collective anguish does for havoc? You eyebeam, and a dude pops out that casts fel devestation.
You wont get far in m+ if you dont run the FB leggo as a tank…you will just get shyt on in 18+ period
Good thing i don’t push keys like that until the very end of the season. Also i don’t tank a lot anyway.
My group sees little reason to do anything far above a 15 because we do 2 to 4 dungeons a week, and it’s just for the vault and eventually KSM
DGB is our BiS Leggo. Most DH don’t use it tho because burning wounds is more consistent. DGB feels bad if you get unlucky on the procs. I think most DH are just lazy and don’t want to put the effort into min maxing tho tbh.
Pieces DH were using DGB during Mythic Sylvannas for example.
As for CA, it’s also more consistent than DGB but when DGB procs it does more damage than CA in aoe situations. Either is fine to use tbh, DGB just has the added benefit of being better in single target situations over CA.
Oh, make sure you’e using Demonic with DGB otherwise it’s not as good. Part of the reason DGB is better is because of the meta uptime you get. I think on average you’ll have aobut 60-70% uptime, and with lucky procs, upwards of 90% uptime.
I finally got the memory to drop after 10 runs and it’s REALLY fun I’m glad I decided to craft it but i have a question about it, if it procs do I want to spend my fury before casting eye beam again so I don’t waste the Blind Fury talent fury generation or should I get it on cooldown right away since I also play with cycle of hatred so I don’t waste those annihilation eye beam CDR procs?
Sir I don’t think you can have the opinion that most DH’s don’t use DGB cause they’re lazy when you play demonic
Put it on CD, don’t worry about wasting fury.
I typically find myself annihilation or blade dancing if I need to move in between but for the most part you’ll want to put it back on CD
I mean the original poster did say no high end content. And Darkglare is a great leggo for tanking in the 15s which is my go to on tyrannical weeks. I suppose when you’re in the 18s you’re running with a tight group rotating defensive cds on you but in the pug life it’s been great.
I switched to demonic appetite because I was capping fury too much with blind fury. Going with demonic gives chaos strike a chance to proc an orb, which fuels chaos strike further. So once you finish your Eyebeam start spamming away. With high meta uptime chaos strike hits harder. With a haste boost during back to back eyebeams it’s great burst.
I mean if you guys are curious what the best is all of the information you ever need is on logs.
In M+ essentially 100% of the top logs are playing collective anguish, and in raid 100% of them are playing Everburn.
That being said I’ve been in raids with burning wounds DH’s that were similarly geared that I beat playing chaos theory.
I think Havoc is in one of the better positions of any spec in the game when it comes to variety of spec and legendary usage being viable in different content.
Momentum essence break is clearly the best spec in the game for M+ but I’ve played Demonic and first blood (which literally zero top parsing DH’s play ) and still pull insane overall numbers.
The only upside darkglare would have over collective anguish is Meta uptime, as fel dev usually does around 80% of my eye beam damage, where as (assuming RNG is consistent) darkglare would only give oyu 40% more eye beam damage, but it would also give you more meta uptime, so you’d have to figure if the damage boost you’re getting from the increased uptime of meta is greater than or equal to the difference between the extra eye beams or the consisten fel devs. You also have to take in to consideration the extra globals and down time from channeling the eye beam is taking away from globals that could be spent pressing other buttons, where as collective anguish doesn’t cause that problem.
Chaos Theory was simming decently higher than BW this tier, but i went with BW solely because leather belt = expensive and cloth cape = cheap
Will craft CT eventually when the market calms down some more on the new base items.
Darkglare is viable - I use it when I’m not in the mood to deal with BW and spread the dot and such. Still do solid damage.
DA isn’t worth taking over BF even with capping fury.
The reason BW is better than Chaos theory is because the RNG of it gets pretty old pretty fast.
Burning wounds is boring in my opinion but it is undeniably consistent.
DGB only works with a demonic build. Demonic is the lazy option. BW works with any build. If any dh actually wants to put the effort into min maxing they drop demonic and learn to play essence break momentum optimally. Also dgb is just simbait.
Darkglare is easier so need to facto that in. BW requires a lot of tab targeting which is annoying to some but I’ve seen some big numbers by a DH who did it well. I agree though, I think we got some variety of Legos that work well with certain builds. If you like essence break momentum that BW and CT are probably best, if you like demonic then Darkglare is great.
Yeah I switched. Blind fury in an essence break and annihilation spam is easy to setup.
Oh and Darkglare works great for veng. It’s my go to on tough weeks over the kyrian sigil reducing one. It’s nice to have fel devestation on CD more often. Otherwise there are big holes in our mitigation on fort raging weeks.
