I can’t think of a worse dungeon, and I am including Dawnbreaker at a very close second.
It doesn’t matter if it’s normal or heroic. Every time I’m in a group with someone whose never done Darkflame cleft or Dawnbreaker, they just die repeatedly. It’s not the tank, the healer, or even the individual’s fault either. The design of the dungeon is so poorly done that it becomes more like a Dark Souls game of trial and error to figure out what to do.
I get that Blizzard wants to make puzzles for us to solve, but when I see nothing but negative comments from noobs and veterans alike from these dungeons, we have to put the blame on the design.

Both dungeons are notorious for not giving instructions on the mechanics so is it any surprise things go sideways?

Those two dungeons are bad and need to be removed until they entirely rework them. I will leave Dawnbreaker every single time I queue into it.

Dawnbreaker and Darkflame Cleft are the most atrocious dungeons i’ve ever played. Absolutely the worst designs I’ve ever seen, we gave them way too much confidence after mega dungeons came out.
They need to go back to the drawing boards and never do dungeons like these two ever again. Absolute garbage.

i don’t want puzzles in my dungeons. i assume they are trying to make us communicate more, but so far i’ve met tired, annoyed, confused strangers who, like me, just wanted a quick random run. i haven’t gotten past the 1st boss in a random dawnbreaker - can’t land on ceilings to regroup, no one is brave enough to land,and since no one will use steady flight we all just fly around in circles til someone either lands without paying attention to the boss, or lands somewhere off by themselves.
the last one that ended any desire to try it again was a tank that kept saying “just follow me” after wipes instead of “i’m going to XMiniBoss”, and instead of flying to and engaging a miniboss, flew somewhere in the general direction of one and landed in a clump of buildings, where we lost him. i just left. i’m not doing this dungeon again unless it’s a guild premade.
i have finished darkflame without too much trouble but that doesn’t mean it’s not a dumb design. i don’t know if i’m doing the last boss “right” but i haven’t wiped so i guess i am? “i don’t know what i’m doing but i didn’t die and got loot” shouldn’t be a dev goal.
