Can someone help me understand this fight? As a healer I don’t understand.
I know that there’s a DOT that goes out that scales for the number of candles you light. So you don’t want to light too many candles.
But the gusts that goes out that puts out the candles seems to either do a ton of damage, where people are barely making it out alive. Or it does like a medium amount of damage.
Does the gust AOE damage scale for the number of candles that are lit too? Or am I just experiencing healing a group that can use defensives vs. can’t?
The Dot scales by how many candles are NOT lit. You want to light as many as you can.
The gust targets players and then shoots the gusts toward them. You want to move away from the boss to give yourself space to sidestep it. The variance your seeing is probably people avoiding the gust and people getting hit by it.
Dot is always based on how many candles are unlit, but what confuses people is lighting candles vs. blowing candles out using gust.
Flame Circles = Light as many candles as possible so stacks are small.
Wind Gust = Only blow out only 1 candle so there is a space to live his next mechanic.
Most groups fail with the Gust Mechanic because they blow out 3-4 candles, which means you get a 3-4 stack dot that goes directly into his AOE dmg mechanic (blowing out all the candles). If you have blown out 3-4 candles with the Gust it is very difficult/impossible for your healer to keep the group topped enough to survive.
